FR24 and FA are definitely not relying on data that is 5 minutes old, as they show accurate positions for ADS-B out equipped aircraft in most situations. They used to, a couple of years ago. Obviously ATC has different receivers and if their receiver data is accessible by the flight tracking sites, then the sites would have better coverage. That's what I'm asking, and his answer was uncertain with the 5 minute stuff. FAA did (does?) redistribute flight data (not the ADSB data) to FR24....
