Re: Phoenix Aviation Thread - 2018

Speaking of S4, any news if anything will happen to gate C12? After WN retired the 737-300s, that gate has been virtually useless (as it can't accommodate the 737NGs) and as of now has a lot of WN ground equipment parked around it. Are the gates going to be restriped? Would they be willing to lease ...

Re: CVG News: WN to PHX and AA to B

Also considering that the majors really don't have a lot of west coast covered from CVG, a PHX flight makes sense. I've been halfway thinking AA would someday add PHX and perhaps LAX. Seems WN could beat them to the punch. AA has added a number of destinations to PHX but they've mostly been on the ...

Re: Why UA flies to FLL over MIA from IAD?

UA has always struggled to provide profitable service (especially mainline) to South Florida. Of the three South Florida airports (MIA, FLL, and PBI), FLL works well because of its central location to both Palm Beach and Miami Dade counties. FLL's own Dulles service has ebbed and flowed on United, ...

Re: Which US Airport Is Most Likely To Be Dehubbed?

Those saying that AA would keep JFK-LHR - of all routes, why that one, when they have JV-immunized BA already offering over 1000 seats/day on it? Easy: because most of the J/Vs require parity/equity (or close to it) in seats and segments, between the carriers. So unless BA wants to give up frequenc...

Regarding the PHX service, that goes way back to the 1990s when BA had a partnership with HP. The partnership ended at some point but the flight performed well enough to remain.
