Looks like they flew through some nasty weather. Ugh, I am sure many of those people were sleeping on the flight when it happened.
Jump to postSad to hear about DTW-ABE. I've used this route a couple times within the past few months and it's always been a CRJ-700 at least at the times I've been flying. But, it sounds like the situation with the regional carriers is hard to avoid for now. Hopefully service can be re-established in the futu...
Jump to postAnd this is how you separate investors from their money. =) The bird looks cool, but let's be real... in the world of Grettas and rising fuel prices... this is a pipe dream. Jump to postNote, there was no communication attempt by the Red Air pilots during or after the accident. Jump to postActually surprised a.net is behind the news versus other news sites.
From reports so far the aircraft rejected takeoff due to an "abnormality".... it caught on fire after losing an engine in an embankment.
Also, let's not forget the United/Amtrak partnership.... your "flight" from PHL to EWR would be operated by Amtrak. =P The bus idea is as others pointed out, not new. From ABE there has been a United bus to EWR for a while.... it was sterile before, then it wasn't (I believe due to constru...
Jump to postACY I can see since there's a tourism draw. But why would you want to hop a bus to ABE? That's quite easy.... Parking at ABE is far cheaper than PHL. Security is much easier and faster to go through than PHL as well, though Pre-Check at PHL is sometimes quicker than no precheck at ABE. Flying out o...

Jump to postGiven the choice, I would not book a MAX, and given the choice, I avoid 737s anyway for how cramped they feel. Jump to postWith a Boeing 737-900ER going that distance? Must be expensive for the airline and not so comfortable for the passengers. I wish them well, but I cannot see this work in the long term. Jump to postHave Air Canada actually cancelled their Maxes? Jump to postExcept a few times at the start of the thread, why does everyone stick with the theory of a missile? Bomb or sabotage would stick better in this story... Is the 717 really louder than the back of a MD-80 or DC-9? I like engines on a wing just for that reason. Lightsaber 717 In front of wing is the quietest mainline aircraft I have flown on.
