What’s that old saying? Something like economists have predicted 12 of the last 5 recessions? I’m not saying it won’t or can’t happen, but there almost always a few economists saying a recession is right around the corner. U.S. National debt increasing $1 trillion every 100 days per CNBC. Combo fleet/network question…could the A220 be subbed in to the current 717 routes as they are retired, or would that honor go to the 737-800/A319s? Or some other aircraft ? People forget that many of the 763ER and all of the 764ER were purchased as domestic widebodies, in an era in which the 777 was planned as DL's primary long-haul aircraft. Too bad Delta didn't order its own 753's (and not just the ones ordered by NW) in the late 90's/early 2000's. I think that woul...

I read Delta plans to have over 300 737's in the fleet by the end of the decade. With 100 or 130 737-10's and 163 739's, it appears there will be some 738's in the fleet at 2030.

Still think Delta is eventually going to order the 787, 787-9. While I'd like to see DL order the 789, 787-10, it ain't gonna happen with the current generation of the aircraft. Agreed. The 788 is badly needed for a 767 replacement. The A330 is just too big and heavy for the majority of 767 routes.
