Deja vu all over again.

Seeing video on local Miami TV right now, that's certainly a sight you don't see very often!

Can't imagine the well-to-do NIMBYs in the surrounding neighborhoods will take kindly to commercial expansion on their doorsteps.

How awful. How common were these incidents "back in the day", before the introduction of jet aircraft?
Pricey beer cans? Such a shame.
Jump to postSaw this during the golf tournament broadcast...the announcers we're gushing over the 787, calling it "wonderful" and such. Lots of free advertising for Qatar.
Jump to postGBG Galesburg, IL used to be served by Ozark, later Britt, but I believe that ended sometime in the 70s.

Jump to postFrom our home, FLL is the closest airport, however PBI and MIA are roughly equidistant. I'll check all 3 when planning flights.
Jump to postLast flight I recall was a charter flight from DFW to CZM, Sun Country, sometime in the early 2000s.
Jump to postATA, several trips from DFW to CZM and LAS. Delta, from DFW to FTL and TPA, last flight was about a week before the type was retired. Really miss this incredible aircraft.
Jump to postProbably had to be MCO - ATL, a DL 777 full of screaming kids.
Jump to postBN-2 Islander. Ambergris Caye - Belize City.

My first (and, unfortunately, only) flight on the Queen was in the early 70s, AA flight from PHX to ORD. Was 747 regularly scheduled between these cities? Seasonal perhaps (it was a spring break trip, if I recall, I must have been in elementary school).
