do we know why emirates has not resumed doha yet? the blockade has been lifted for a few years now FZ is doing the job , plus QR lobbying for not allowing more flights between DXB & DOH. So odd that QR is lobbying against more flights. DXB used to be a far bigger market for QR than DOH ever was...

My issue with Etihad is that they no longer offer multiple departures to many EU cities or even the US. So their connections are limited. It doesn’t surprise me they have 10k unused seats to India. Btw India has plenty of unused seats to AUH as well which the UAE won’t let Indian carriers use for D...

Funny how things change only when AC stops complianing... And then people say the government doesn't protect AC and their awful service... Anyways, not sure why it says the UAE carriers previously only had 14 weekly flights but EY flew 6x and EK only flew 5x weekly. There must be some capacity limit...

Yes, demand is increasing much faster than anticipated. They recently said they want to increase more services but do not have enough staff to do so. I think the successful Expo 2020 and O&D to Dubai is helping them as well.

Didn't FZ fly to DAC as well in the past? I think I remember reading about it somewhere. Yes, up to twice a day with a full Y config of 189. And flights were full. Those slots were given to EK as they could fill a 777. Maybe they were not making money, the flight must have been over five hours, no?...

It’s a known market for them, which has high volume and must perform well. No guarantees that there is higher yields elsewhere. The cost cutting is clearly evident. That meal does not look any bigger or better than the same meal I had on Etihad last year. Only difference now is the removal of the starter and butter/cheese.

On highly competitive routes you need every edge you can get. The latest most comfortable aircraft can give you that edge. This is an interesting and sensible point. He's taken a back seat recently and isn't giving so many comments to the media as he used to. More recently, other senior executives including Sheikh Ahmed have been talking to the media. If I had to guess, I think Mueller will be his replacement.

Very tight race for #2. Didn't know ORD was ahead so far this year but LAX should overtake it as ORD traffic decreases in the winter.
