Re: DL new summer 2018 transatlantic flights

Speaking of the JV, seems like DL has been doing most of the adds. Will we see AF/KL take over any existing flying or possibly add new routes of their own to restore the balance? I know there have been a few already AF expanded service to ORD and KL to SLC.

PVD was always meant to be seasonal. DEN is being upgauged to A321 for the summer. How many nonstop cities would that give NK from MSY? 10ish? They...

Not a surprise with PVD, since NK is adding daily BOS service, but it's hard to imagine them running DEN only 3 weekly. In May of this year DEN was the highe...

What gets me in all these discussions about Spirit is the commentary on how they won't begin or try a market because there's too many carriers on the route. If they were worried about that, they wouldn't be on half the routes they serve. Spirit has proven time and time and time again, they don't ca...

Spirits doesn't normally specify dates for schedule extensions or new routes. The exception would be maybe if they are announcing a new station.

Not sure if this will be announced, but we here at MSY have been hoping for some combination of daily service and upgauge to 789. It would see that there will be enough capacity to do that plus a new city.

I've heard that MSY will get three additional destinations (in addition to the recently announced BOS/EWR/MSP/TPA) for a March or April start. I wonder if they'll give SJC-MSY a try 3-4 weekly. WN is adding it once weekly this spring, which was frankly a surprise to me, but I think there could be a market for it. Having used SJC and SFO recently, I think a lot of travelers would be happy to avoid the hassle and delays to the north.
