Wasn't the RB211 on these birds de-certified by the FAA a while back? I thought I remember reading something about that.

Noticed an online advertisement from them today to "Fly our new wide-body aircraft with lie flat seats". Anyone know anything about that?

What drives me crazy is the media. They report any aircraft maintenance issue as if it were a Boeing manufacturing problem.
Jump to postThe loss of UA's MAX-10 orders should be a real wake-up call to Boeing. This fiasco isn't just affecting UA. Boeing's bottom line will suffer for quite some time due to the reduced production and delivery capacity. Frankly I'm surprised we haven't seen other major carriers do what UA has done.
Jump to postTC957 wrote:They certainly got their monies worth out of those 767's ! Most of them must have quite a lot of hours on them. Are they going for freight conversion ?
Most had predicted that the bulk of the order would go to Airbus, but it appears evenly split. I dont think most people were even thinking about the E-175 being in play.
Jump to postThe Reuters article says that there's a possibility AA orders the MAX 10 too, which would be a surprise: The final mix of aircraft is still in flux, with the U.S. carrier also considering whether to include Boeing's forthcoming 737 MAX 10 as part of the deal following certification delays. If this ...
Jump to postILN is quickly becoming a 767 graveyard/parking lot. At least two dozen 767s parked in various states of disrepair and/or dismemberment. Many of these birds are being scrapped. The bulk of them are -200's that have reached the end of their airframe life. Others (-300's) are waiting their turn for c...
Jump to postGood grief. You all are treating the MAX 10 as some exotic wild animal. We know exactly what it is. It's a MAX 9 with a stretch and new main gear. By this point any operator, whether they have a current fleet of MAX or not, understands almost exactly the economics of MAX 10 vs. A321neo. There is un...

Tough times at Boeing, but they brought it on themselves. They had no choice but to withdraw the request for the exemption on the MAX7 after this latest incident; it likely would not have been approved anyway.
Jump to postThis is just another example of why I dont think any airline should be relying on one OEM for thier aircraft.

Jump to postI'll give it to the LH group.. They throw fleet simplification out the window.. Why pick on the LH Group? Jump to postWonder how many of these orders have been not negotiated before the airshow. Hard to believe such 50+ widebody orders can be a 2 day decision/negotiation. Most, if not all, are negotiated prior to and announced at shows. It was a standard practice at Airbus for many years. I will say the publically...
Jump to postRegardless this is great order for the 777X and 787. Now let's hope there are no further delays in the 777X program.
Jump to postI hate to sound like a party pooper, but Boeing cant even get the Max10 or the 777X certified right now, and they are embarking on this?

Give it time. Maybe Boeing was waiting until the huge Indigo Airbus order would be announced. Any Boeing order announcement today would be dwarfed. Jump to postI don’t hate it. I like that it’s just modest refresh rather than a drastic change.
