The loss of UA's MAX-10 orders should be a real wake-up call to Boeing. This fiasco isn't just affecting UA. Boeing's bottom line will suffer for quite some time due to the reduced production and delivery capacity. Frankly I'm surprised we haven't seen other major carriers do what UA has done.

Tough times at Boeing, but they brought it on themselves. They had no choice but to withdraw the request for the exemption on the MAX7 after this latest incident; it likely would not have been approved anyway.

Not being knoweledgable in such things, it makes me wonder why a CFRP frame would be considered in such poor shape as opposed to a tradition one that sat in a wet climate. Isn't CFRP much more resistant to corrosion and such?
