Put it on display outside AC HQ?! Yeah and Asiana can put the wreckage of OZ214 outside Kumho Towers, and Turkish can put a diorama of a DC-10 in millions of pieces in a French forest in the lounge at IST. #genius Difference being AC143 had no fatalities/serious injuries. Jump to postI'm curious, American even after their merger with US Airways and Delta even after their merger with Northwest became large, capable airlines where screwups happen but are addressed and the operations of those airlines seem to do fine. Why has United (after the merger with Continental) been such a t...
Jump to postClasses are full at QX. Had they started recruiting earlier this never would have happened. Are they? Or are you just going off of the speculation in the article? Horizon started recruiting when the furloughs were recalled back in 2010 or so. That's not the issue. I am going by the class drops post...

how is this impacting the flying public? Do these companies want a monopoly over international travel so that they can screw us like they're doing on domestic travel. last I checked they're making record profits. what more do they want? I for one travel exclusively with United and star alliance air...
Jump to postDelta absolutely has NO right to any gates at Dallas Love Field. The airlines that do are VX/AS, WN, B6, NK, G4, or F9. Actually DL does have very significant rights. The city of Dallas is required to file Competition Plans for DAL. The last two filings the city has made (I believe dating back to 2...

I said this in a thread a while ago but I spoke personally to the head of MIA and asked him if he wants WN, B6, NK, G4 at MIA. He told me no. He said he isn't lowering fees/costs for them to operate out of MIA so with them being big players at FLL, I don't see them moving over. I guess he didn't no...

Jump to postSay what you want about Ryanair (I do), but they actually fly! Time for BA, AF, and LH to either fire these people or shutdown operations.
HPN: Largest: Airbus A320 (B6) Smallest: CRJ-200 or E145 (AA, DL, UA) HPN is also my home airport, so slight amendment: smallest would be Cape Air C402s to LEB, MVY, ACK, PVC, etc. My other (less) local airports: LGA has the 767 from DL occasionally, more regularly 757s. Smallest would probs be the...

Jump to postJetBlue's operational disaster merged with United's PR/brand disaster is either a fantastic match-up or hell on earth. UA gains Boston, control of JFK back, and finally Southeast exposure with FLL/MCO hubs. JetBlue gains access to the Midwest, West-coast, and a ton of international destination in on...
Jump to postDelta absolutely has NO right to any gates at Dallas Love Field. The airlines that do are VX/AS, WN, B6, NK, G4, or F9. If that's the case, then DAL should forfeit any and all funds received from the federal government since they don't want to accommodate an airline that had started service when th...

Jump to postI'm pretty sure a box cutter when extended has a relatively large blade. I'm pretty sure prior to 9/11 blades were prohibited from carry on luggage, and I believe box cutters most certainly would have violated the rules. But, hey, let's look at some historic reportage from those days: http://www.cb...
Jump to postI like the guy who says the flights are nearly empty, this is like a Zanu PF propaganda video and putting staff in it is so low. I don't care about subsidies as long as i get a cheap ticket i am ok. whether its a 17.5 in Boeing or 18 in airbus. I want to get from A to B cheaply and safely. That was...
Jump to postAs much as I love Delta (for being a US carrier that is) this is a pretty biased, slanted, inaccurate video. To quote our lovely president, "Fake News".
Jump to postThis is a question I've had for a while, how did American Airlines last until 2011 to declare Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection, when other airlines like United, US Airways, Delta, Northwest all went bankrupt a lot sooner after the 9/11 attacks? Not to mention, AA lost two flights on 9/11 and two mon...
Jump to postAlaska still has Chester on their tail, along with the Hawaiian girl on Hawaiian. The only major US airline that hasn't really changed too much is B6, but then again they started in 1999 and have made some changes to their livery.
Jump to postAnyone know when WN will start parking the older (Pre-2000) delivered -700's? Or do they still have some life left in them?
Jump to postEnd result will be flights being cancelled when a customer is noncompliant, and since it's outside the carrier's control, the rest of the customers won't be entitled to reaccommodation on other carriers, compensation, etc. Just reaccom on the next online flight or a refund if they choose not to fly...
Jump to postUsing them is not the issue, earning them is the issue. Big difference in the amount I'm earning now with all airlines since we switched from a mileage based point system to a revenue based one.

Jump to postYeah the mistake was using the logos. The word "United" is not trademarked, and there are other uses for the word/companies who use it.
Jump to postPre 9/11 security wasn't fantastic, but I can't believe how we Americans take the abuse of the Toilet Safety Administration everyday. They hire the most incompetent people on the planet. If I didn't have TSA Pre-Check through my Global Entry membership I'd have gone crazy by now.
Jump to postI like this thread title better.
Jump to postWhile conditions were not ideal, I think the flight crew did everything in their power/that they could. Remember these are Trans States crews not United so customer service would be 100% better. On mainline United she would've been kicked off.

Jump to postLiquids rule world-wide needs to be abolished. Obviously agricultural/customs rules and regulations need to remain in place but the fact carrying a water bottle or cup of coffee through security is a threat is laughable. I think this rule was started by airport food vendors.

Jump to postSo are you all going to fly WN and AS? AA and DL have nearly identical products out there, and DL was actually first. As usual UA was not the first mover.
