Re: Delta Aircraft Refurbishment - 2018

My biggest hopes for the 777 refurbishments is that the Sydney and Johannesburg flights get refurbished aircraft before some of the shorter flight like east coast to Europe. Given that the ERs are being done first, with the LRs to follow, your wish is unlikely to happen. The timing makes sense--the...

Re: Delta ask DOT for flexibility to move Haneda gateways

Delta has asked the DOT to allow flexibility for Haneda slot holders to operate service from any U.S. gateway where such carriers hold underlying route authority. Without providing any specifics about its own plans, DL argues having the flexibility apply both to current and future awarded Haneda sl...

I don't think ORD will ever be a hub for DL but local O&D in L.A. probably is good enough for DL to start the route. Can the E175s make LAX-ORD work or not enough range? That would be a good A220 route. The E75 doesn't have the range. Smallest aircraft outside of the 220 that Delta has that has...

Adding something like ORD-AUS doesn't benefit the network and would be a dumpster fire. ORD-AUS would only happen if DL puts a focus city/hub in AUS. My prediction: DL will move to T5, build a much bigger and state-of-the-art SkyClub, cut CVG, put the A220 on LGA when they get more of them, add LAX and maybe AUS if DL puts a hub/focus city there. That’s it. There will be no DL p2p flying (domestic or international) out of ORD because they’d get ...

O’Hare Airport’s massive O’Hare21 project has Delta’s operations moving to the expanded Terminal 5 in about 2021 (best guess at the moment). From my standpoint they could use more 50-seaters. There's so many markets out of DTW and MSP that have either lost service or have very limited frequency since the Saab 340/50-seater drawdown. A further reduction of 50-seaters to levels DL describes would further eliminate more routes and frequenc...
