Thanks for the further details readytotaxi. Although countless flights where pax have been "stranded" in a plane for longer periods of time went without such actions from the pax, this guy finally did what everyone else was just thinking.

I will agree it would be more convenient to I-35 if the airport had been in the Temple/Belton area. That argument was made 20 years ago and the GRK location won out with a ready to use 10K ft runway, ATC control tower and next to the the largest government contract customer base. The grey livery you see debuted in 2013. By 2019 when AA retired the last of their MD-80s, the entire then-current fleet was painted in the new grey. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Lots and lots of classic 737/747 and classic trijets in service as well more and more 733, 752, 762, and 763 coming off the line. Anticipation for the MD-11 and 744. Prob a lot of freighter DC-8s out there and many active pax DC-9s
