SJC and OAK pretty much always get f***ed by SFO. Or by local people’s belief that the only airport in the Bay Area is SFO. I would guess the problem is everyone else, not locals. Tourists and other visitors want to fly to “San Francisco” airport and may not know if another airport might be closer ...

That one nonstop is cancelled as of next month, with only connections via PHX to fly OAK-DFW. Obviously AA has seen the market cannot support nonstops to DFW and beyond so obviously the SFO, SJC and SMF's have the flights. Thank you for your responses. She's booked for OAK now. I believe it's around an hour and three quarters by road. That'll be what, a $200 cab ride ? Could take BART to Warm Springs ($11.15) then Uber/cab from there. UberX estimate right now is $106 Warm Springs to Monterey. Not quick or cheap though.

Delays 2:39 right now; weather will get worse this week leading up to big storm Wed/Thurs. There's currently a high wind watch for Wednesday so be prepared for long delays if you're planning to fly through SFO then.

What goes into the calculation that produces the delay number? Many flights operate at or close to on time (especially long haul, transcons), and many cancel; there aren't many 10 hour delays to counterbalance the on times to get to a 5 hour average.
