It is just not a DTW, DL's LHR flights have quite low load factors across the system. It is far from the worst, here is the data from November 2016 (65% loads overall): City, Seats, Load ATL, 13919, 78% JFK, 17225, 73% MSP, 5876, 73% DTW, 5459, 56% BOS, 5690, 55% SEA, 5878, 52% SLC, 3569, 45% PHL, ...

Gainesville (GNV) may be an alternative for those in the northern Orlando (MCO) area. Also, G4 flies into Sanford Orlando (SFB) instead of MCO. St. Petersburg/Clearwater (PIE) is extremely popular for Tampa Bay travelers flying on G4.

Are some of the increases in STL due to WN drawing down some LAS flying? If so, I suspect the yields would be much better from STL. Disclaimer, my source for less LAS flying comes from reading a few threads here on a.net.

With the recent additions of MCI, BUF, ORF and AUS - BOS, plus routes like CMH, IND, MKE, BNA and CVG -BOS, it wouldn't surprise me to start seeing BOS more actively used as a connection city for TATL flights, especially with DUB now being added. To make BOS TATL connections work DL needs to adjust...

On a grander scale, reminds me of TWA at JFK when they decided to grow to the Caribbean. Too little too late. Why would UA now decide to build up LAX after years of decline?
