It is just not a DTW, DL's LHR flights have quite low load factors across the system. It is far from the worst, here is the data from November 2016 (65% loads overall): City, Seats, Load ATL, 13919, 78% JFK, 17225, 73% MSP, 5876, 73% DTW, 5459, 56% BOS, 5690, 55% SEA, 5878, 52% SLC, 3569, 45% PHL, ...Jump to post
That he is . Got quite a few chances to meet Mr Travolta or John in two different locations the first is at EAA Airventure in OSH, a very nice man in person shoot we talked for almost a hour on various different aviation subjects. The second is at a retail store at ORD by the Hilton. Was shopping a...Jump to post
With the recent additions of MCI, BUF, ORF and AUS - BOS, plus routes like CMH, IND, MKE, BNA and CVG -BOS, it wouldn't surprise me to start seeing BOS more actively used as a connection city for TATL flights, especially with DUB now being added. To make BOS TATL connections work DL needs to adjust...Jump to post
Here's a decent article about ensuring employers are not hiring illegal workers.

Oh my word. How elegant. If you're going to spend 18 hours on a plane, I suppose this is the way to do it. The breakfast meal looked awesome. Thanks for a great trip report!Jump to post
My favorite part is the Tribute Pale Ale. Someday, I hope to be on a 787-9. Great review, and thanks for posting some awesome pictures.Jump to post
The BBC is running a "live reporting" thread.
On a grander scale, reminds me of TWA at JFK when they decided to grow to the Caribbean. Too little too late. Why would UA now decide to build up LAX after years of decline? To compete with 2 other airlines? They have a giant, uncontested hub up the road and will maintain an O and D-based (sans JFK...Jump to post
Wish we could get a TPA-MEX service Agree. I think it will happen sooner rather than later. What level of service do you think TPA would receive if Aero Mexico added MEX? 4x weekly on an E190? I think it could work 6x to start. I don't know the PDEW, so that would probably determine the aircraft ty...Jump to post
Delta is way stronger in Europe than iit is in Asia and the scope of the ICN hub will never be what AMS and CDG are. Perhaps today. But you lack the vision to understand where DL is headed in the next few years with multiple hubs and the KE JV. I was hoping you'd stay on the DTW thread, but now you...Jump to post

Those states are already 80 mph.
Security related, make sure you change the password from the default to your own. Also, have central monitoring if it's cost effective.Jump to post

I am saddened that KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is retiring its 747's It breaks my heart. KLM 747's have transported me safely from LAX, SFO, ORD, DTW, JFK, YYZ & YUL approx 200 times over the past 30 years Each of my flights arrived ahead of schedule passing up slower aircraft along the way Always...Jump to post
DTWLUVER wrote:Please tell me DL you are not skimping on maintenance here ? The 747 needs to be 100 percent until its retirement ferry flight. You got lives at stake here DL in the air and on the ground !
When I was traveling extensively, I wish there was this type of forum to document everything, That's why I'm very appreciative of you taking the time to put this together. T5 looked pretty darned busy and the plane spotting was great. Thanks for all the pictures!Jump to post
I hate to see what the environmental impact is going to be on the Great Lakes from all the thousands of gallons of Jet fuel now sitting on the surface of Lake Michigan . Which feeds into Lake Huron and down to the Niagara Falls and the ST Lawrence Seaway . I hope the Fishing industry in Michigan wi...Jump to post

Should the previous AA livery remain on some aircraft as a 'retro' paintjob? I personally prefer the previous soon-to-be-gone livery and it would be sad to see it disappear completely. I'm not a huge fan of the new livery, but it's time to move on. AA will most likely have a few as their "retr...Jump to post

People need to get real Delta is only friendly to those who bolster their bottom line and anyone else who doesn't is fair game. Okay, you made the claim. What's the evidence any other airline is different? His claim is not dependent upon what other airlines do or don't do. His claim is either true ...Jump to post

I'm not saying this would happen next year, but certainly on the horizon: next 5 to 10 years.
Wow! I lived in London from 1999-2001 and went to what was then the Millennium Dome. We took the Tube from Gerrards Cross and my parents had never experienced a subway system before that. Thanks for all the great pictures - much appreciated!Jump to post
There won't be any gridlock in Michigan. The main threat in DTW and FNT's future will be, I think, wild bear attacks. Tell ya what If I see a bear it will be on the dinner table tonight ! Love wild game meat ...Gotta love living in the Midwest huh ? MSP & DTW a hunters paradise . There goes the...Jump to post

Another nail in the NWA coffin. Weeps! DL wants everything to go thru ATL face it folks. IF DL kept the NWA NRT assets we would not be having this discussion here.
