Apparently, this wasn't his first incident flying a helicopter.

Looking at how big the explosion and how sudden this accident was, it is absolutely remarkable that all passengers and crew got out of the A350 before it was too late. Amazing job by the crew! Hopefully no lives lost in the other aircraft.
Jump to postLATAM orders 5 789s powered by GEnx. Yet another loss for RR on the 787. https://newsroom.aviator.aero/latam-announces-orders-for-boeing-787s-powered-by-genx/ Finally. I was hoping for decently more than 5 given the 767 retirements and potential growth, but I'll take it. Considering they are switch...

Jump to postOnly issue I see with deploying A321XLRs to IPC is the reduced cargo capacity.
Jump to postIn what I believe is the first time that LATAM Chile has had to bring in planes from LATAM Brazil (registered in Brazil and under the Brazil AOC), there are 7 A320ceos from the Brazilian franchise flying domestic and regional routes out of the SCL hub for LATAM Chile. They are PR-TYJ/K/Q/R/T/U/V. T...

Would it be economically sound for the lessor to send it for repairs or just scrap it? Shame for such a young airframe.

Jump to postSeeing how much business is going on between China and Chile, a route between both countries might be feasible. Also, there is quite a surprising amount of tourism between both countries, though not year-round.
We shall wait and see.

I've been seeing lots of TikTok videos about last minute flight cancellations and very angry passengers. Hopefully they are not having issues with the GTF. I've only flown Jetsmart once and that time, we left the gate a few minutes before departure time and arrived almost half an hour early at our d...

Similar to what happened to TransAsia 225. Man.
Jump to postIs LATAM in any position to order aircraft? I know they have been active in picking up 789s and I’m sure they are keen on more. Last order for new aircraft was in July 2022 for 17 Airbus A321neo. They have been taking new-ish A320ceos (less than 5 years old) from the defunct Viva Air Colombia. The ...
Jump to postLATAM Airlines Chile just got 3 New-ish Airbus A320's. All of them coming from Viva Air Colombia and they are some of the later built CEO A32x. Two of them are already being readied for service in Santiago and the other should be coming in the following days.
Jump to postThere seems to be an issue between the A350 and Brazilian airlines.
Jump to postToday, CC-BBF, a Boeing 787-8, sustained damage while being towed at El Dorado Airport in Bogota, Colombia. The towbar on the tug broke and the vehicle got caught underneath the airplane. There's a video on twitter and also a picture taken after the incident: https://twitter.com/aviationbrk/status/1...
Jump to postIs this also affecting the E2-Jet operators? Indeed it is. The GTF is installed on the E2, A220 and A320neo and appears to have abysmal reliability (compared to other engines) and many aircraft grounded; however, someone posted that DL had a whooping ZERO A220 grounded (and that other airlines have...

Jump to postI mean, you must have zero shame if you want to receive a bonus for doing a lousy job.
Jump to postLast February was my first flight on the A321 and it felt different. Even though it was one of LATAM's rather uncomfortable A321s, it felt different. It certainly felt like a smoother ride.
Jump to postIf you look around SCEL, you can see how bad security measures are. Outdated fences, flimsy perimeter gates and lackluster safety checks are part of what the problem is.

I seriously doubt that someone in Venezuela (other than "El Presidente" and close friends) would wake up one day and say "Yup, Damascus, that's where I'm gonna spend my vacation at".
So, Viva Air Peru is also going bust right?
Jump to postBut yeah, unfortunately, it was time to come back to Santiago. So, after a one-night stay at a hotel in Temuco, my vacation was over. Oh well. If it isn't very economically viable, I doubt any manufacturer would spend such a big amount of money developing a new AN-225 kinda plane, let alone for just one or two airframes. The AN-225 wasn't very economical to operate to begin with.

How is PLAY doing btw? I do hope they stick around for a long time because those red A321's look absolutely gorgeous!
