Re: Emotional attachment to airlines

Qantas would be the airline I feel the most connected to, my first flight (DRW-PER), first international (SYD-AKL), first intercontinental (SYD-BKK) and first long haul (BKK-LHR) flights where all with them. Combined with the minor sense of pride you get when you see the national animal at airports ...

QF also leased a BA 744 at this time also VH-NLH (never leaves the hangar) - operated in a hybrid livery with BA config. I remember that aircraft. According to the Qantas Source, it spent nearly two and half years with QF, from November 2000 to March 2003. Wouldn’t the oddball configuration and dif...

OEB is surely the next QF 747 to go into retirement, it's amazing to think they've kept her around longer than they did with OJT (a newer and refurbished aircraft retired only yesterday).

As the 747s are replaced by the 787s it opens up a lot of questions about routes like HND where the 787 is simply too small for QF to make the most out of it. I'd expect some of the free A330s being used to restart SYD-NRT to operate alongside a SYD-HND 787. I believe that QF will inevitably purchas...

What routes have airlines launched and then canned right after launch? Could be domestic or international.

There's obviously a number of times airlines have pulled a service before it even started but I'm looking for services that had atleast 1 scheduled flight.
