UA not only has much more capable, efficient aircraft at its disposal today but also a much more competitive product. We are talking about an airline that has sucked it up on routes like LAX-BOS/DFW/MCO/PHX/PVG/SEA/SLC/YVR for years - in order to remain attractive to Angeleno FFers. I certainly don...Jump to post
The problem with one stop service in East Asia is that all of the sudden you are but one option to CGK. Korean, Asiana, ANA, JAL, EVA, PAL, Cathay, the Chinese carriers also offer one stops via East Asia from LAX. Tough market. But, hey, I welcome Garuda back to LAX. This and more. Their 'business' product is far superior to scootBiz, which is terrible.
The strongest markets in South America are GRU and EZE. It makes sense for QR to tag GRU-SCL and GIG-EZE, instead of adding GIG-SCL. Interesting, does anyone know how QR is doing on DOH-GRU-EZE with a 77LR? I had the pleasure of flying GRU-EZE on this last summer and found it curious who would fill...Jump to post
No new route thread on Anet is permitted to continue past the original reply unless BOS is mentioned, so I figure ill bite. It could most definitely work. MIA-DEL anyone? :) While I enjoy the purpose of the thread I think the feasible probability of the originally mentioned routes are very low. Nor...Jump to post
Its great that they are constantly updating their product, but it certainly means passengers will notice a significant difference when they fly on one of their older aircraft. Unfortunately this is the case sadly. This year I've had two very different experiences with EY flying in J Class. In Febru...Jump to post
This is so cool. As someone who used to work in downtown San Francisco and prefers to fly out of OAK, technically I believe it would be possible to run a ferry (or other nautical service) between the Ferry Building and very close to the southernmost entrance of the OAK terminal building. It would ce...Jump to post
I noticed a good amount of Korean tourists when I was in Barcelona a few months ago. I found it interesting that all of the books at the famous sites like Gaudi buildings were in Mandarin, Japanese, and Russian but not Korean. Seems like a good leisure market to develop. Is anyone aware of some not ...Jump to post
Just out of curiosity from the thread's title, would it be possible (or feasible) for LH to fly BOS-MUC-DEL as a sixth freedom flight? I assume the A359 would be nicely suited for this and that there is some demand (tech/universities) for BOS-DEL + *A feed and a Jet Airways partnership at DEL.Jump to post
Can't help but think they are trying to buy their way out of trouble, as opposed to making the tough calls - have they lowered their cost base that much? Has the work force shrunk? have they improved their utilisation? If not they need to sort thought out before considering any new aircraft. In add...Jump to post
Very excited about VN coming here to Los Angeles. LAX-SGN on a VN A359 is probably my favorite future fantasy route and I do think it was inevitable. Wondering how people here think this will perform given the constant shadow put on the feasibility of TG (BKK in general), MH, and GA operating to LAX...Jump to post
Good move! I actually have to disagree with the nay Sayers about the connections. LGW offers a lot more European connections than LHR. Virtually all second and third tier European destinations are offered from LGW exclusively. Agree about LGW connex opportunities, although it's not factual to say &...Jump to post
I flew the SFO route in August and it was better than expected, albeit I wasn't expecting much. Although DY is by far the best budget option in CA for travel to Europe the 2-4-2 config is nice if you're traveling as a pair. I split my time between LAX/SFO and know the WOW flights have been very popu...Jump to post
