Recently flew UA 48 EWR-BOM, the flight did not touch Iranian airspace nor Pakistan air space. It went through Turkey and then Iraq and then on to the Red Sea. UA 82 flights are the problem now as these flights have to avoid Pakistan airspace so they go north of BOM to reach DEL. Flying through Tib...Jump to post
It's extremely windy in Chicago today. That might be part of the issue. DL and others are running normal operations into MDW. ORD seems to be running fine. Take a look here at MDW's flight page. https://www.flychicago.com/midway/myflight/flightsearch/pages/default.aspx A ton of red. I would not wan...Jump to post
What's going on with WN at MDW this morning? I flew out of MCI to DAL this morning at saw the first few flights from both to MDW are canceled. Looking on flightaware there is only ONE inbound WN flight to MDW and it's coming from PUJ. Is this MX related? There does not appear to be any significant w...Jump to post

OO only has 19 700's at UA, and as far as I know they are OO owned so they wouldn't be shifted over to G7. G7 could bring their planes over from DL and OO could repurpose their UA 700 flying elsewhere. Although after looking at the EV sale, OO was given protection over current flying and a priority...Jump to post
Closed today because of standing water and fog. I would imagine it’ll open back up this weekend with the cold temps coming back. I can confirm from the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee that temps have warmed to near 50! Temps expected to plummet after today with sub-zero temps expected next week. https...Jump to post
I grew up working at LCI right next door. It always seemed that every winter we would have at least one aircraft that got totaled trying to land there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjlJ2GB4RMU Here is a good video blog that did an episode about landing at B18 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Con1...Jump to post
I have flown into KEGE for around 8 years, and the loads are going up more and more. I remember when AA used to fly the 752 to DFW in the summer, and did EGE-DEN-MIA on the 752 as well. The 757 is a great plane for EGE, but the lack of them at AAL/UAL and most of them being sked on flights to south...Jump to post
So when the 757s are all retired, what will be the successor aircraft? A321. Quite unlikely. The airport is over 6500' above sea level and has a challenging departure procedure. Just take a look at GYPSUM6 and MEEKER3 DPs. https://aeronav.faa.gov/d-tpp/1813/06403GYPSUM.PDF https://aeronav.faa.gov/d...Jump to post

Is there any official release from PSM or F9 on the PSM service? I haven't been able to find anything outside of the F9 website booking engine.
Good for PSM, sucks for MHT.

You guys do not warrant flights to several different airports. Try to fill your 100 seats a day to DEN first. Actually, these OO bids seem to do well. I believe there have actually been some of these EAS Airports that were able to sustain themselves once OO went in. I like UA's new commitment to sm...Jump to post
I like UA's new commitment to smaller markets in the US whether it is EAS service bids or simply underserved markets or even interline with partners such as Silver, Boutique or Cape Air that serve smaller communities.. All show up on United.com! This isn't really UA's commitment, but more so Skywes...Jump to post

On a slightly different note, who was the last major network carrier to serve CYS? : Back in, I believe, the late 1980s, mainline UA had service to CYS. LAX has a VFR Cooridor directly over the airport at 2500 feet. If it’s clear, you can fly a GA aircraft north or south over the midfield of the 25s or 26s without a clearance from tower, all you require is a Class Bravo clearance. Any other major airport in the country this would be unfathomable. B...Jump to post

Didn't F9 do flights into ASE with Lynx Q400s before the transition to LLC?
Very short sighted comment. Boutique Air has lost out on many of their EAS bids (especially from DEN) due to only having one engined aircraft. It’s not ideal in a mountainous area to many communities. Hence why they have invested in King Air 350s. The other issue is weight limitations. GLA’s passen...Jump to post

I was looking at the routemaps for Skywest and noticed under the United brand flying map they have Fort Collins (FNL) listed on their map. Part of the reason is because everyone around has been siphoning away traffic from MHT: BOS, ORH, BTV, PWM, even PSM.. Part of the reason is cost. It's not cheap to fly from MHT. Often it's more expensive than BOS even when parking is included. MHT is not going to grow until they find a way to make...Jump to post
My understanding and the way I see it is that there is a correlation with declining numbers at MHT and the completion of the Big Dig in Boston.
