I have experienced some major delays on regionals , most seem to stem from a lack of flexibility in the schedule. A minor mechanical delay of 20minutes could cause a crew to time out there is no slack to move staff around like the mainline. So now the rest of the flights for that trip could be cance...

They are about to start a huge expansion, and I think this is a good way to ensure they are fully staffed to keep construction based delays to a minimum. More hands on deck for a small fee ($0.17usd per bag) seems reasonable...

I'm surprised that the connections to the south and southeast USA is so poor from YVR. Trying to get to Atlanta or Florida or the Caribbean is a whole day affair and one or frequently two stops. I don't think any major will purchase a RJ that isn't a 76 capable airplane again. Even if you have a segment that is relegated to 70 seats or less (like Delta), or 65 or less (like AA), it makes more sense to buy a 900/175, and certify it at the limit, so should scope change (unlikely) in the futu...

I know AC cancled both YVR and YYC to and from EWR yesterday... was trying to fly home from GSP yesterday, first YYC got cancled, so i was out on the YVR flight... thankfully I decided to scramble and go through IAH... as I was in the air, YVR got cancled as well... oh well fly out in the AM to EWR...

Done YYC - EWR 1750 nm, 4.5 hrs there, and 5hr 10mkn return on a 190... I never really saw a full flight so you could stretch out a bit and relax... but gets tights when more than 80%full

the only upgrade to a 747 is possibly UPS depending on how the new Amazon fulfilment goes... even then I think you would see an increase in frequency vs. Capacity. YYC is not restricted in the number of gates, just the staff to keep them open... by the time the airports that busy 747s will be mostly...

Once the fan rotates and reverses the flow of air, there would have to be a moveable flap that changes the intake into the compressor section. This would make the air do a 180 causing a major restriction of air into the compressor that I think is causing the issue....

What about an order from Westjet. I know that they are traditionally a Boeing customer, however, they have also bought the Q400. Publicly, they have indicated that they are not interested in the CSeries, however, so did Air Canada before they ordered the CSeries. The Cseries would be a good replace...

When Encore was launched, using a whole new fleet from a vendor other than Boeing, it was quite smooth. But they eased into it, unlike the trans con service where there was no time spare in the schedule. Has anybody read the new contract? Any provisions in regards to a new or expanded fleet types?

The matting agent used will add weight, espically on white. almost 40% of the total refinish product used weight added, that would be the biggest drawback. Plus matte does not hide dirt as well.
