When things are smooth, they are pretty good. My flight to Japan was very good. When there is something wrong, they are impressively bad at making up for the issue. Zero disregard for customer service at that point.

What's there to advertise? You don't get the benefits of better pressure and humidity on such a short flight, so it doesn't balance any of the disadvantage of absurdly narrow seats more common on 777/787s today.

Passport engines are high compression engines and designed for high Mach, high altitude performance, not RJ work. Plus they are heavy, their weight had to be accounted for on the Global. Rockwell already practically owns every airplane in terms of LRU count, giving them ridiculous leverage during the design phase, which seems like it saves money but becomes a huge headache to OEMs and co-suppliers. They just end up having too much clout.

Bombardier already underpays engineers and likely colludes with the remaining big aerospace in Montreal (CAE, P&WC, Bell...) to keep it that way. That's why you have a diaspora of them working in Seattle, Japan, California, etc... all the good ones seek greener pastures eventually.

I'm pretty sure I heard the reason why they can't use CFM-equipped 737s is that the engines are too low for gravel runways.
