How much shorter is the route from nashville round trip to london compared to NOLA and would that have any bearing? No bearing at all. BA flies daily on significantly longer routes from LHR. I've been told the same thing. I've been told the airport has known that May wasn't a possibility for months but they refuse to push it back. Seems like being behind on the build-outs would be the contractor’s or vendor’s problem. Why should the board let them off the hook and give them extra time?...

How? Can't disclose sources on that one. Any word on that the holdup is? Lining up enough incentive money? With the recently dropped routes, they should be able to free up some slots and aircraft. When the 789 comes in, it's still sold as 3-class, so the F seats still get the C class service. I guess they give those to the uber elite platinum titanium uranium elite flyers. Both are the case. Hard product is (obviously) F, soft product is C, seats tend to be given to full fare C/J pax then hi...

Here's how the other BA non-hub 788/789 routes did...the BNA flight was 82% full, SJC was 81.7% full, and BWI was 90.2% full. AUS was a 744 market this Summer and was 83.8% full in July. UK CAA stats for February are out. The BA flight had a 62.4% load factor for the month using the 214 seat count of a 788. Not great, but also not as bad as previously feared for the month. BA is likely making a profit despite lower LFs because of its high fares. If you want BA to have competition, you risk both airlines not charging enough, even filling planes, and losing money. Then MSY is left with neither carrier. BA has only been in MSY a year, lets let things settle a bit before...

I’m sure they’ll right size it back to a 789 in no time. Nothing bigger than that is needed on AUS-LHR I agree. I'm even skeptical of two 787s on that route to begin with. The 777 on that route didn't work, so how are two 787s even going to work? This is precisely why I hope DY stays away from MSY ...

AC reduced capacity, but saw pax counts increase over 2016. This pushed load factors up by 7.3%. BA and DE both had less than stellar months with loads of 66.7% and 70.5% respectively. Inbound loads to MSY were higher than outbound loads to Europe for the month. Not surprising as school starts here...
