9 hours for an empty NG makes sense. Might not even need aux tanks.

WN flew a 737-800 NG from HNL-DAL which is 7 hours during ETOPS certification, and I heard they landed with over 2 hrs of fuel left. And I think they had 25 people on board (FAA etc). Amazing what you can do eastbound :)

Why doesn't WN just open the hiring pool to external applicants? We keep hearing this story of stations being understaffed yet it seems like they have no intention of resolving the issue. Who is still flying 737 CL in the USA? Alaska still have any 400s? 2. I don't see an alliance but could see codeshare with intl partners to move pax around the country before/after longhaul. Pilots won't want to share any route WN can reach with it's A/C

I thought for the MAX 7, WN had 30 orders, which they reduced to 7. So I take it this new order is for 193. The previous reduction to 7 orders shows that they were seriously about to bail on the 7 at one point. It was always 30, 23 were just moved back a few years. GK always said they needed more 8...
