Interesting to note that the first DEN-IST flight will be on a 777-300er. Obviously elevation, temperature, tire speed, etc are not a factor as I am sure this bird will go out 100% full for the first flight. I remember years ago when posters suggested that the 777s couldn’t make it past FRA fully lo...
Jump to postIs AF planning to use the A350 or 787 during the winter months? I believe they are switching from the 777 from last year to the A350 this summer. . .
Jump to postUA didn't launch anything from DEN with today's announcement. I do believe that CDG makes the most sense for the future to go head to head with AF. TK will eventually announce IST and you got to figure that EK will start Denver once they receive smaller (787 and A350) aircraft. One other interesting...
Jump to postI wonder with Asiana soon leaving Star Alliance if EVA would ever consider adding DEN. They do offer great connections to mainland Asia from TPE that ANA doesn't touch.
Jump to postWhen will Turkish announce Denver? Got to figure soon in order to get bookings going for next summer. . .
Jump to postWith Aer Lingus dropping the United code-share agreement, do you think that they will ever start the Denver service? Seems like they would be without a major feeder to make this route work. . .
Jump to postNo need to tow the Aer Lingus widebody to C - Dublin is a preclearance airport and thus the flight wouldn't require an international arrivals capable gate on A. . .
Jump to postDo you think it would it be possible for other Star Alliance carriers (Lufthansa, Copa, Edelweiss and eventually Turkish) to use the United FIS gates to free up common use capacity on the east end of Concourse A? You would have to figure that other international carriers are looking to introduce or ...
Jump to postI have wondered: As are jet engines interchangeable between either side of an aircraft or in the case of a 4 engine set-up, interchangeable between the inboard and outboard locations within the wings? Obviously the nacelles holding the engine components will differ depending on the side and location...
Jump to postAny idea of what United will announce in Denver next Tuesday, the 23rd?
Jump to postInteresting to see UA fly a 787-10 from DEN to NRT today with a 100% full load. I bet that 16k ft runway came in handy although it was pretty cool in Denver today.
I wonder if the -10 will become a more regular visitor to DEN. . .
United now has a ton of international gate space at DEN with the new A gates and I have been surprised that they haven’t announced anything new to take advantage of this new capacity - they did ask for these gates so you would assume that they have a plan to use them. Bad timing for European capacit...
Jump to postGot to figure that Turkish will eventually launch IST which will drive incremental ME demand from Denver.
Jump to postUnited previously used B32, B38, etc as the gates for their European and Japan wide body flights but I am curious to know what the plan is going forward now that they have several A wide body gates which are likely receiving the inbound international flights - seems unnecessary to tow the planes ove...
Jump to postI recently flew an LH 787 for a short-hop between FRA and MUC and the plane has a much nicer biz class product than the newly refurbished A350 that I flew from MUC-DEN. All direct aisle access, excellent seat product and great AV. This is a positive development.
Jump to postI didn't think United was going to open a Polaris lounge at DEN but rather another United Club - did this change?
Jump to postWith Aer Lingus receiving the A321XLR next year and its 4,700 mileage range, I wonder if they would fly it to Denver (about 4,350 miles from Dublin). . .
Jump to postIf I was to guess about potential future potential destinations run by a Star Alliance carrier, I would say: DUB (Aer Lingus), Istanbul (Turkish), DXB (Emirates) and Paris (United). Longer term, I could see AKL and BOG get service as well.
Jump to postNow that the 787 deliveries have resumed, should we expect Turkish to announce Denver soon?
Jump to postAny update on if/when Turkish is going to launch Denver? Maybe they coordinate the announcement around the grand opening of the multiple new international gates on the A concourse later this year. . .
Jump to postI am assuming TK will go 3x or 4x / week with the potential IST->DEN flights later this year on a 787-9 but maybe an A350? Should be a great Star Alliance hub -> Star Alliance hub addition!
Jump to postIt sounds like Turkish is going to announce Denver as a new destination later this year - this comes from a quote from the marketing chief at Turkish Airlines in a Forbes article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/christopherelliott/2022/04/12/summer-2022-travel-expected-to-hit-pre-pandemic-levels-says-t...
Jump to postSounds like Air France is temporarily upgauging their Denver aircraft from 787-9 to a 777-200er this spring. Not sure if this 787 related or capacity related. . .
Jump to postWhat new routes does everyone think DEN will get in 2022? Lots of new gate capacity and hopefully an eventual decline in COVID.
Jump to postInteresting to see Denver now with double FRA and MUC on most days - I wonder if LH gives up the MUC flights. . .
Jump to postUnited is getting 20+ new gates in Denver early in 2022 and many are widebody / international capable - got to figure that they will make a splash. . .
Jump to postBread=Paris -> DEN to CDG to take on Air France.
Jump to postTPE is a good call with EVA - United needs an Asian partner with a strong regional presence and with Asiana going away and Singapore too far, this makes the most sense along with ANA. Maybe Air China to Beijing?
Jump to postWith the 30+ new gates coming online later this year and in early 2022, there will be capacity for lots of new destinations from Denver - what are some predictions of new routes? Some of my international guesses (in no particular order): Air France / KLM: Amsterdam + increasing frequency of Paris to...
Jump to postwhat are the current United widebody gates in DEN and where will the extra 6 be located? Will any of the new gates be common use gates in the newly expanded A concourse?
Jump to postIf an airline has a plane go out of service away from one of its hubs because of a broken part, do they ever contract out with other competitor airlines for a replacement part if they have local inventory available? For example: If UA had a plane go out of service in CLT, would UA ever try to contac...
Jump to postJust saw a tweet that United is introducing new international routes tomorrow- any guesses?
Jump to postBA showing A350-1000 service to DEN later in the summer but i am sure it could change.
Jump to postI wouldn’t be surprised if UA counters this with their own flights - they will have a ton of international gate capacity once the A concourse expansion is completed.
Jump to postSounds like the new airline is Air France, 3x weekly 787-9. . .
Jump to postWasn't Aer Lingus close to announcing a DEN flight pre-COVID? With Norwegian gone, there is space for another trans-Atlantic carrier once demand recovers. . .
Jump to postIt sounds like DIA is ready to start planning for a 7th runway - I am assuming it will be an East/West strip but not sure if it will be 12K or 16k feet long. Expected first use in 2H28 so they have plenty of time. . .
Jump to postAnyone think that United or others will pick up the now stopped Norwegian CDG flight?
Jump to postWhat's the status of the long haul international flights to Europe and Japan? Any expected long haul / new carrier additions once the industry shows a meaningful recovery?
Jump to postI was just looking at a satellite view of JFK airport on Google Maps and noticed that there wasn’t a single plane at any of the gates or on the tarmac - I believe Google removed the images of all aircraft. Many other airports show planes at the gates so any idea why Google selectively removed them a...
Jump to postLooks like LH is now pulling the plug on DEN-MUC again. . .
Jump to postConfirmed: LH starting MUC next week while UA will handle FRA in early November. . . https://www.flydenver.com/sites/default ... estart.pdf
Jump to postSome decent Star Alliance feeds into JFK with UA re-opening the station next year. . .
Jump to postSounds like UA is adding back DEN-FRA next month. I wonder if LH will ever bring back their DEN-FRA connection or if they will rely on United's metal. . .
Jump to postUnited is opening a bunch of new widebody, international-capable, gates in DEN next year. . .
Jump to postAnyone have updated stats on the busiest US airports by passengers? I suspect DFW and DEN are probably numbers 1 and 2 but I would love to see the numbers.
Jump to postI read somewhere that DEN was at 200 cities which would make it #1 domestically - can anyone confirm?
Jump to postI have seen DEN add a number of domestic destinations, partially driven by EAS grants.
Is DEN the most connect domestic (non international) hub now? I think they are definitely over 200 distinct destinations when running at normal capacity. . .
Pre-COVID, DEN has 2x daily FRA (LH & UA), daily MUC, and up to 3x daily London (BA, UA and Norwegian) service. . .
