The other risk was reduced crew communication, one of the best things from a CRM point of view in an emergency now is to open that cockpit door and leave it open to allow information to move more easily between the cabin and cockpit That wouldn't work with smoke/fumes. I am fully supportive of the two crew rule. I want it to stay. I think the positives outweighs the benefits. Long may it continue. I hope that if anyone becomes aware of an operator who changes their policy that we may form our own opinion on that regardless of where they are in the world.

I don't agree about pilot only toilets. I think the interaction with crew is good for CRM. We do get to talk a little and it's nice to get out and stretch our legs properly. I agree. Part of my posting is to find out who (if anyone) is abandoning the rule as it's simply not as safe IMHO and I'm hoping to visit Australia at the end of next year. My only hope is that they don't all abandon the policy. It makes me comfortable at work and it does as a passenger.
