Is it/would it be possible for BA to deploy the 380 to LGW or are they only based out of LHR? If they do it, it is LHR no question. But if I was BA, I would just cut LGW altogether and merge the two into one; O/D to/from London doesn't care if its LGW or LHR, so why not kill two birds with one stone?

The ME3 are a sham. Government funded so profit isn't main goal setter. Seems to me their main goal is to just screw the US3 into pulling out of some European stops and India all together. T5 isn't that bad. The only problem is the train ride to the main terminal and security for international arrivals. For international departures, there is a bus from T3 to T5 for BA departures. MCO is definitely a focus city, with AMS and GRU, it is actually more of a mini hub rather than a focus city. I believe that outside of PDX, MCO is the only city with two long-hauls. MIA has a very strong brand recognition in Germany, much stronger than MCO or FLL. ??? DXB, DWC and Sharjah. Those are far outside the USA. The title clearly says regions in the US so the middle east doesn't qualify. Moscow. Might even have 4 one day ;) Again, not in the USA so it doesn't count. Seems like outside the USA it's easy to find regions with multiple international airports...

Always wondered why the Superhub is so busy at night if the temperature is not that hot during the day. I've heard that there is a plane arriving or departing every 40 seconds during these hours! Is it a logistical or physical reason for peak rush during night hours?

Desperately trying to avoid flying an empty A380 on such a long sector just to reposition it. My guess. EK probably had a dozen of them sitting on the tarmac! There's no way on earth that they would've had a hard time finding a spare A380 in DXB, unless for some odd reason they were hesitant to bor...

Will be interesting to see two competing feeds, UA at DEN and BA at LHR. The interesting thing is that in terms of connections, they actually compete in different markets. That said, DEN-LON is getting crowded! Not too long ago, it was just BA and now it's BA, DY, and UA!
