What are the growth opportunities for narrow-body long-haul once IB starts to operate the A321XLR? IB & TAP used to have a competitive advantage being able to fly the A319/20 to ACC, SSG, TMS and LOS where other European carriers would need to send widebodies to reach Central and Western Africa...

How do they pressurize the cabin from very high airports

So I understand that standard cabin pressurization altitude is around 8,000 ft, so what sort of procedure is there when leaving or arriving to very high airports (thinking of LPB at over 13k ft). Do they just adjust the outflow valve to slowly get close to field altitude before landing?

I feel like there's a lot more acceptance of driving further to get where you need to go in Galicia though so SCQ has less of a problem with catchment area. T4 main seems to usually have free gates and T4S is expanding. As far as fleet strategy, I don't know about the 737s, but I've always thought the 787 made a ton of sense for IB for thinner routes into Latin America. Would easily make MDE, CLO, ASU, GDL, etc.. much more viable options. On top of that...

An interesting thing IIRC that at least used to be the case was that for DFW-SYD on QF, SYD was the alternate. The flight didn't have enough spare fuel for the calculations of the whole trip so it dispatched DFW-BNE and then would "divert" to SYD when close buy and could guarantee the fue...
