Re: Mid-air collision at Dallas Executive Airshow

You realize turning performance is based on TAS and bank angle. Those warbirds have slower TAS than a jet, hence better turn performance. Of course but why constrain to a 2D plane about x-y axis. The P-63 could have avoided it by pulling the yoke up and flying above the aircraft in the z direction....

I meant that modern planes have better mobility and can make more tighter turns quickly. Can't expect the same from an older bird.

Re: Mid-air collision at Dallas Executive Airshow

this was totally unnecessary. Are their protocols with older birds flying in formation? They don't have the same fast dynamics modern planes do but then again I don't know how the P63 pilot missed it. Maybe the color of the B-17 might have blended well from a top-down perspective but still.

Do you really think extending the age by 2 years is going to solve a pilot shortage? It's just prolonging it.

Cargo and connections to India and East Asia perhaps? I think there are already direct flights connecting them as of now. Interesting to see how this will pan out. I think it would have been good if they established routes to European destinations which were lucrative in the past. Currently UL is v...

Ok... what the hell are these guys thinking? I get it there are some of us who like to go safaring and visit the national parks but is there demand for weekly A333 service which works to about a 6.5 hour flight. SL's economy is severely hit because of COVID and Kenya which isn't doing too well eithe...

Re: Do airlines discriminate based on routes?

The OP is mistaken. Airlines don't discriminate against Sri Lankans because they are Sri Lankans. Airlines send more premium configurations to more premium markets such as JFK, LHR, NRT, and HKG, because those markets make more money with those planes. It's all about the bottom line. It's all about...

Do airlines discriminate based on routes?

In the past, I have noticed middle eastern carriers send equipment of far less quality to Asian/African destinations than it would to an American or European destination. Is this a valid observation? CX may have flown the 773A to MEL at one point. They use 77W’s to SYD/MEL now on some flights. TG BKK-MEL Maybe the longest recent route? Mainly 77W/77E/359 now. KE flew NRT-LAX and ICN-NAN years ago, a few ICN-AKL, TG a few subs BKK-AKL. SQ had them briefly scheduled SIN-AKL due to Japan Tsunami 7...

I doubt they will put a barrier since it might have a detrimental effect on tourism for which SXM is a major crowd puller. It was also caused by a 737 and not even a bigger engine similar to a GE-90 which has frequented the airport for ages.
