Pardon my ignorance, but is this thread now Beluga exclusive or will we still see updates on passenger A330s? -Rowen Are you suggesting a complete and severe thread drift as this thread and topic is obviously exlusive to the Airbus Beluga! Well at least you had the decency to ask rather than going ...Jump to post
Any updates on the CZ A321neo? It flew months ago and still no delivery. Is the plane certified yet?

I recently flew 2A on a 199 seat bird, the old Soaring Spirit jet to be specific. It wasn't the best ride, pitch even in First is pretty tight. I think it's around 37 inches. I'm pretty tall, so everything is pretty tight for me. But, I did appreciate the AVOD, power ports, and mood lighting. It's n...Jump to post
Has China certified the A321neo yet? The first CZ plane flew a while ago and we haven't seen much since.
How is the A35K's climb performance? It won't step climb like a 77W will it?
Aggressive takeoff with heavy thrust reduction and level off. Especially on 757s. Though, some of my most memorable takeoffs have been on MDs. This past summer out of DTW on a 29 year old -88, long takeoff roll and steep climb. My favorite however, was out of MCI to MSP on a DC-9-50 on NW. I swear t...Jump to post
Who else is still flying the 777-200LR? AC is one I can think of, along with EK/QR. DL operates 8, PIA operates 2, Turkmenistan operates 3, and Iraqi Airways operates 1. DL operates 10. AI offloaded their 77Ls quickly, calling them "gas guzzlers". Like the now vanished A345 they are niche...Jump to post
One of the last times I flew AA, a flight attendant asked the man next to me if he'd like to move to the exit row for extra leg room. I'm 6 feet 4 inches tall, so naturally I was annoyed. I switched to DL and started ponying up for first class.
Any ideas? I can't find any listings, and I have a collector's shop in town but I figured someone here may know.
Wonderful piece on the Queen of the Skies. But I do wonder, could FO Clairborne have gotten left seat on something larger than a 757? Yeah, that was really a shock. When she said “smaller,” I was fully expecting that to be a light hearted joke as she moved on to the 77W, but no, she actually meant ...Jump to post
I could see AA with the 779 eventually, but the 77W fleet is too young to even consider replacement. I agree with sentiments above about DL, if they want a larger aircraft, the A350-1000 would be a nice step up.
None of those products look particularly great, the color scheme is far too cold when compared with the current style which is inviting and warm. I am happy to see they have finally dropped the flip down style bed in J, but the new product looks quite cramped width wise (that might just be the phot...Jump to post
The first suite looks great from a privacy perspective, but I agree about the transition from a chair to a bed. Also, the colors are so sterile. Maybe because they're easier to maintain or clean. The new J seat is really a downgrade in my honest opinion. The current seat in the 77W and A350 looks mu...Jump to post

ITT: Exactly why discussions of institutionalized racism are so fraught with challenges. I'm astonished that someone would actually use the "we were the first to hire a black pilot" line. Did the CEO have black friends, too? Perhaps we'll be told how the crew enjoy R&B music on their ...Jump to post
The Y seats look so cheap. A touch of red and that diamond weave pattern would liven it up. I think the finishes overall are cheap, it dulls the product. While the seat itself may be good, the aesthetic is just meh. All navy, some brushed metal finishes or something would be great. More contrast tha...Jump to post

Is it wrong to assume the A330s will be some of the last planes to get a new D1 seat? The Vantage XL is in use by SK and others. I remember something about the suite doors not being able to fit in an A330, but we see semi enclosed suites on LX and EY in first class, so why couldn't DL do it? Just so...Jump to post
I think it looks slick. This livery has grown on me. The A333 is one of the best looking planes in the sky, and the black really suits it.
I'll pay extra to grab a 757 out of MCI on DL. We used to see 757s from Delta and United when I was a kid, but we're still lucky to get a handful from Delta every day. I got on the former Soaring Spirit bird and pulled up to one of the Skyteam jets at MCI. What a sight, shame it was after midnight. ...Jump to post

Reverse herringbone business seats.
I thought SV had 9 abreast on the longer haul 77Ws, and 10 on the jets that replaced the older 747s for more regional or Hajj flights. Seatguru isn't the greatest resource, but two of the three 77W seatmaps have 9 abreast seating.
There are no more domestic 752s, all have been replaced, and UA is investing heavily in the Airbii fleet with life extension packages. The 737MAX10s will probably replace some of the PS aircraft and fuel some additional RJ retirements and growth. Can you provide links/information to confirm this (a...Jump to post

I use it on some short haul flights, especially if I'm on an MD out of MCI. If there is a seatback screen, not so much.
One of the big arguments I've heard for eurowhite on this site is the maintenance cost. White doesn't fade in the sunlight like a gray or silver paint would. I'm a fan of color, so I really hope we don't see complete eradication of color on a livery. I think NZ, TG or Oman Air's liveries are a good ...Jump to post

77W. I'm partial because of my username, but those GE90s are truly a sight to behold.
I actually like the current Star Alliance livery, as long as it's maintained. This goes for any livery, but the white gets dirty over time. Also, some airlines (looking at you CA) haven't taken the 15 year sticker off their planes yet. But the livery, when maintained is to me professional and clean....Jump to post
