Broome, an hours bus ride from DCN, also has lots of accommodation. Also Broome airport has a 7700 ft runway which would have been adequate to land an A330. Try 2 and half hours, DCN is not the ideal place to get stuck for a diverted flight, its terminal (if you can call it that) can barely handle ...
