The weather here in Perth has been pretty atrocious the last few days, but does anyone know the minima last night/this morning? PER recently finished upgrading the ILS equipment and lighting on 03/21 to prevent exactly this sort of thing. Bit of a shame if the first foggy morning of the cold season...

In the end, it comes down to this being a firm order for 15 frames. If they are only replacing 77Ws then it's hard to imagine a 15 frame firm order at this stage. Some flights to PER affected by suspected fog

TT421 MEL-PER returned to MEL
VA697 MEL-PER diverted to ADL before continuing on to PER, expected arrival just after 230am
VA474 BNE-PER diverted to MEL before continuing onto PER expected to arrive just after 3am

What a shame for PER and QF! Whilst I'm sure there is likely more to it, I don't understand why PER wouldn't let QF run the flight out of T3 like they want too... I'd be gobsmacked if this is purely down to which terminal QF can use. You'd think that airports would be happy to accommodate new route...

QF ultimate plan will be to have PER-LHR,CDG,FRA with each flight originating from either BNE, SYD or MEL giving east coast passengers a full 787 one stop experience to 3 of Europe's major cities I guess the only thing that defines when CDG and FRA start is the "Perth Airport Situation", ...

Do they use 2 or 3 aircraft for PER-LHR? Anyway the 6 additional jets should be enough to cover both PER-CDG and PER-FRA. I hope they expand their European network.
