Jump to postHas there been slip-up within the American aviation industry, particularly Boeing?
Absolutely disastrous and my condolences go out to the families of those affected.
More and more airlines will need to be seriously looking at shifting their orders to Airbus.

Great watch.
Surprised no one has mentioned it yet. Looks like a rip-off of the Qatar livery.

Jump to postFurther on that, when you get the odd delayed jet taking off at 12/1am, and its easterly operations, there's a good chance it'll take off from 09L.
Source: Someone who can spot easterly departures from his bedroom perfectly.
They happen fairly often, believe it or not, after 10.30PM for easterly operations. Especially the summer, not sure why that is (weather better for night maintenance of Southern runway?).
So I'd say, after 10.30PM, you'd find 09L being used a good (roughly) 20 times within a year.
3-4 day long layovers are mostly a thing of the past. Especially New York. Maybe on some places that are served 2-3 times per week. As far as I know, unless it is more than 8 hours time difference, the crews fly back the next day. Really? So is the whole "International carrier Pilots being awa...

Surely they can reposition jets on some of the gates to allow for disembarking?
