The real issue is that there is a $70m 737max sitting unused at MCY and has been for two months now .

Sure there may be issues with Canadian registry etc but there’s no way you can let an asset like that sit around doing nothing when you are already so short on capacity

Whilst they do lack a spare aircraft, they have certainly been seriously unlucky with bird strikes. Maybe the MAX is too quiet and they don’t hear it coming ! ;)

Was it NZ or VA that used to (maybe still does) CHC-RAR? Both IIRC. VA still operates the route (which it commenced in June 2016), seasonally. This year, it ran from 30 June to 12 October. Hopefully it'll return next year. AFAIK, NZ dropped the route, and now only serves NAN in the Pacific Islands ...
