Anyways it is for the banks to decide what to do with their NPA account, not the GoI That's theory, not in practice. Did you not read that the banks had to go to the Govt to discuss the potential haircut on loans to Jet? Banks don't work in isolation. Big decisions are always made by the Government...Jump to post

The most important thing that saved SpiceJet (besides the correct political affiliation of the new owner) was the Marans getting out before it was too late. Jet could and would have been saved had this been done late last year. NG prevented this, now its honestly gone too far to be saved. Also the ...Jump to post
Does anyone else think that AI is making a huge mistake by Flying to Nairobo and Bali, which could have been profitible had they chosen to fly to Johannesburg and Auckland Instead ? No sane govt would interfere with a matter under investigation by ED and SFIO. But hey small town India gets a foreign flight and cheap fares. This has never been about cheap fares for NRIs - many of us are alliance captive and pay premiums to fly our alliance, be it coach or business class. But that story doesn't work for the remarks here. Lol what?! How many NRIs do you thi...Jump to post
India's aviation future belongs to Modi Air(Luft) on its third life, presently known as SpiceJet for next five years.
dtw2hyd wrote:Did DGCA/AAI publish April '19 traffic data? Haven't seen any info. Interestingly high premium yielding airport is mum about April data and busy with tree saplings.
And you can't beat AI's sale J fares (plus their over 60 fares in J when they have them). You say that's a good thing! We resident Indian taxpayers end up heavily subsidising the annual pilgrimage of NRIs to the motherland. I don’t why few people like you are so cynical on this forum. What he means...Jump to post
If India is a "FULL" (your word) signatory to the Cape Town treaty/agreement, why does the lessor have to pay unpaid dues on the plane (outstanding fuel and airport charges borne by the plane) before the aircraft will be de-registered? This thread seems to carry a lot blatant falsehoods masquerading as facts. Readers of this thread should know India is not a FULL signatory to the Cape Town treaty/agreement. IndiGo to launch daily flights on Delhi-Chengdu from 15SEP Doesn’t Spicejet operate this route? If so, my hunch is that Spicejet will be driven out. I just can't believe that Vistara isn't jumping in to a few key long haul flights like LON, HKG and on other EU hub where they partner with an EU airline for onward connections. AIX has "96"(not a typo) permanent employees, AI has 11,000 permanent, AIX has 1000-1200 total, AI has 17,000 total, including contractors.
