The flight left at 7.45pm. Dinner service started around 8.45pm. By the time we had our meal it was more like 9.30pm. I am more used to having dinner between 6 and 7pm. Different countries, different eating habits I guess.

As for the dinner service, Europe bound flights from YVR are typically served about an hour into the flight, regardless of the carrier and time. I think just the fact that they switched off all the lights was a bit odd - never had that before on any carrier coming back to Europe from North America....

Actually the legroom on Air Canada is 32" compared to 31" on Lufthansa and British Airways unless they reduced it since 2 years. It is indeed 31" these days which in itself isn't too bad but coupled with 10 abreast makes for very uncomfortable flying. The desert is a joke. One measly...

Really depends on when you are thinking of travelling. During school holidays this flights is pretty full. I tend to travel outwith school holidays and in 2 out of 3 times, I'd say I managed to have an empty seat next to me (but then again I had status with UA).

Hi Kieran! Nice to see a fellow Weegie on here :) Been on this flight many a times. My first choice to the New York from Glasgow as it is so convenient.
