AA can only do a limited amount of upguaging due to a lack of mainline gates at ORD and CLT. Despite CLT being a megahub, AA has less than 50 mainline gates and many of them have size restrictions that make anything larger than A320 problematic. RDU’s limited gate space right now might have contributed to GSO landing NK. That’s my understanding- lack of RDU gate space and the AA fortress/lack of gates/cost of gates in CLT had NK split the difference. There’s 9 gates opening up at the end of month/early July. EI, 4O, VY, IB*LEVEL, MN, BE seem quite possible. AS as well (Explorers fare partner) but they are connected with many carriers from other airlines *and EK* so not sure. wait....so PMAA never left A? Why not? AA did not keep the gates and does not currently operate out of A. But AA wants as many gates in CLT as possible to both expand and keep competition out. Lisbon was announced but due to slot availability, was cancelled before it even started. IF they get slots, I’d imagine they’d end up there first.

I think connections are huge here,especially when you realize the domestic connections x-YYZ are going to be limited to almost entirely YUL/YOW. Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan have a larger population than Canada in general, and you can connect over ORD to just about anywhere in the Midwest or East Co...

I liked the blue better.
The gates and terminal definitely still have much more blue than orange. All the numbers, etc. are written in blue and the only real things that are orange are the logo when you pass by and the SkyLink.
