Walking through the terminal in BUF I saw a delayed AUS flight filling up the gate area. A completely subjective - nearly irrelevant - observation but that’s what I saw.

“Nearest airport in point of time” doesn’t necessarily mean the nearest airport by distance.

It would be a moot point if the facility doesn’t have air stairs to service the aircraft.

I recall that the BOS, RDU and SEA flights were posted on AUS/ABIA’s Facebook by the following day or two. Nothing on CVG and more interesting nothing on the SkyClub. Those ads in the terminal have been up for 6 weeks now.

Yes. I forgot the exact term but from what I understand they’re building a maintenance facility dedicated to Airbus aircraft.

The only primarily RJ routes are RDU and CVG. DTW and MSP get inter-holiday/low season CR9/E75 downgauges.

I wonder if DL would consider turning AUS into a full blown hub? I could see a hub the size of SLC eventually taking shape. Just a thought, did DL ever consider beating AA to the punch on DFW-AMS? KL dropped it for a reason. Before the AA service began. It would be very surprising to see DL try it. It's really not needed because so few passengers connect between airlines at JFK. The only terminals which really need to be connected for online transfers are T2 & T4, and DL offers the JFK Jitney service for that. And for international-to-domestic connections, there's no need for the terminal...
