The fact that Dr. Dao may have been a past felon has no bearing on what happened to hum aboard that plane. There was no causal connection between his past actions, which he served consequences for, and being beaten. Also, I again refer you to United's own DOT filings. Their own documentation indica...Jump to post
Ohio's long-term aviation planning has turned out to be terrible for the state. At one point, when each of our major cities had hubs (CVG - Delta, CMH - America West, CLE - Continental/United and DAY - Piedmont), the strategy seemed like it had worked. With consolidation, however, CVG effectively l...Jump to post
Pretty sure they'll do what they've done before...source aircraft or parts via dodgy characters / companies in intermediate countries who couldn't care if the US bans them from business deals with the US... This could all escalate...I mean I bet the ME3 would be in a position of offload a few surpl...Jump to post
This can be easily solved. Put the pets back in the cargo hold where they belong. (And no, animals have not been a routine site onboard "forever". I've been flying since there was a smoking section onboard and seat assignments were given with stickers.) There is not a single pet that NEED...Jump to post
When I was a kid, we flew IR JFK - LHR - THR and return THR - FRA, as well as THR - IFN and THR - SYZ. It was 1976 - before they had any widebodies in the fleet. We flew all legs on 707s & 727s. On the international legs, the service seemed to be OK, but slightly below that of the U.S. carriers....Jump to post
Actually, that’s not quite accurate. In Dr. Dao’s case, United’s own policy was that once a validly ticketed passenger was seated, they couldn’t be removed. They could be bumped before getting on the plane ans sitting down, but once on the plane they couldn’t be asked to leave. This was codified in...Jump to post
Very glad this troubled man did not take anyone else with him.
On a lighter note, I must confess that IMO, one less clunky turboprop in the world isn't a bad thing.
It is called Law enforcement, you know? The authority is only there to enforce the law, and she didn’t break any. The passenger/airline was also under contract with each other, where she was fulfiling her part by paying and abiding all applicable laws. The airline was in breach of contract and misu...Jump to post
Please read the entire article before jumping to conclusions. But that's EXACTLY what you have done throughout this thread. I don't care what ethnicity you are; just CONTROL YOUR KID! If they are incapable of behaving out in public, then don't take them out till they're ready. And it would be great...Jump to post
She was not in the wrong. Therefore she did not have to leave, no matter who said so. You are not obliged to follow orders by wrongfull use of authority. The US is not a Police state. Mindblowing how many people doesn’t seem to grasp that simple principle. No, what's mind blowing is that people lik...Jump to post
Considering the fact the passenger was escorted off of the plane by LEOs meant she didn't go willingly which is the passengers fault. Was there a miscommunication? Probably as it's clear from the video English is not her native language, but that doesn't give her the right to behave in a way that p...Jump to post
The 757-300, hands down. It's so sexy, so athletic-looking. The long and lanky flying pencil with the takeoff performance of a rocket. It's a damn shame there weren't more of them built. Well said. Boeing doesn't need to add another widebody to their family. Put some modern engines, avionics, etc. ...Jump to post
What else would anyone EXPECT him to say? " We bet our business model on an airframe that few can effectively use, and no one else wants; so somebody please please please order more, so we can have a chance of receiving further PIPs/NEO options without having to foot the bill 100% out of pocke...Jump to post
Seriously not trying to be a wet blanket, but is there really enough O&D at MSY to justify the route? I know NO is a solid tourist destination, but am just not seeing enough biz demand. Regardless, best of luck to MSY.Jump to post
I wouldn't take AI on a dare. My friend was supposed to take BA ORD-LHR & got put on AI instead. Ended up in a seat near the galley. She said it took all her muster not to throw up. Sure, AI isn't what it was many, many (did I say many?) years ago, but that last comment has "racist" w...Jump to post

"Self-absorbed and self-obsessed"? Don't be so ridiculous. Besides lifestyle or religious reasons, some people have legitimate medical dietary requirements such as not being able to consume gluten or lactose. You think those people should pack enough food for an 8 hour flight and bring it...Jump to post
I don't think WN to OAK makes a difference, as you're not going to take them to get to Asia, or much of the west coast, for that matter. Nor, is OAK the preferred business airport to SF (unless, obviously, you're doing business in OAK). http://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/blo ... ights.html From th...Jump to post

Donald Trump might soon be President which does seem to portend the world ending! .
This Article is a "Guess and By Golly" Article No basis in Fact and all supposition. The Hub at IAD was a natural extension of United's Ocean to Ocean service. and it won't ever close though I do think it could be reduced to a large "O and D" (under 100 flights a day) destinatio...Jump to post
BA is about to trial a range of earbud style earphones so that it can get clearance to operate gate2gate IFE. You will be able to watch a movie from when you sit down to when you get off however only if you use the BA provided earphones. I always thought the Wright Amendment should have been scrapped totally years ago. Nevertheless, WN is closing in on a monopoly at DAL, and they should not get any more gates period.Jump to post
Yeah, I forgot that it´s a DL now. Better so, BTW. But really the offer seems to me tiny for a so big and developed area. Really there is no foreign carrier (i.e. SAS or Emirates) flying in the area? Maybe is still convenient to fly Chicago and drive the remaining 500 miles... Or is there any ULCC ...Jump to post
I am wondering why the leaders in CMH have not actively pressed UA for SFO service? With Honda and many other Asian companies in central Ohio, and given the fact that UA has SFO service from IND, PIT, CLE, etc., having a couple of daily SFO flights would seem to work, given UA's sizeable hub there.Jump to post
Am admittedly not an expert, but it seems to me Boeing would be better off reviving and updating the 757, rather than updating the practically-dead 767. The 757 (what's left of them) still seems to remain wildly popular with carriers, especially ones using them to fly long routes where there isn't e...Jump to post
Put my vote in for not liking the new site. The graphics, sections, etc. are all way too big, which makes navigation much more difficult. But, I'd also like to proffer some constructive criticism - instead of just unilaterally, radically changing the site next time, create a beta site that the loyal...Jump to post
