Re: The MSY Thread - 2017

We'll have to wait and see what the overnight updates look like. Sabre clearly indicates 4X weekly starting on that date. Perhaps the 5X weekly service will just be for the peak cruise season. Or perhaps Sabre will be updated showing the 5X weekly service tomorrow.

If DE has a few more successful seasons in MSY, and if traffic continues to grow, LH could be a possibility to replace DE. Not expecting that to happen, if it does, for at least 3-5 years though. DEN is being upgauged to A321 for the summer.

Speaking of NK, they are rumored to be adding three additional nonstop markets (in addition to the four recently announced) for a March or April start.

Perhaps MSY since it's 5X weekly and the two days it doesn't operate would mesh well with this SEZ schedule. I guess we'll see. It's an option, in any case.

I'd really like to see ULCC service on MSY-BNA to shake up the market a bit. The WN nonstop flights are jam packed, and if you book relatively close in, you're looking at $600 roundtrip, easily. I hope NK sets up shop in BNA soon and adds a daily nonstop.

In truth, A doesn't really need much in terms of amenities. It will be a quick and easy walk to the B terminal. If you're waiting on a BA flight, and you're only 3-4 gates away from a ton of food/beverage/retail options in B or the central post-security terminal area, I don't see the harm in that.
