OKC and ABQ might hang around longer than six months. The others? Doubtful.
So many darts, not enough space on the map...
Passed through XNA on a Jefferson Lines coach from Texarkana to Kansas City a few months back. More development than I expected in the area. Still, the air service it has is likely not to change all that much in the foreseeable future. It’s well connected, for the most part. By the way, enilria - th...Jump to post
DL service from MSY to BOS and SEA is back in the GDS. Very minimal service overall, Sa only for SEA, Sa/Su for BOS, starting in March. I don’t see any flights in February and I can’t see April flights yet. I’ve heard rumors that there will *not* be a third lounge of any kind, besides DL and UA, muc...Jump to post
Nice to see scheduled SY service into MSY (finally).
STS-LAS...there’s an interesting one.
I’m not surprised by *any* of those F9 reductions. All seemed rather thin to begin with.Jump to post
Interesting picture! AM has been talked about ever since the MSY-MEX route was listed on a DL/AM JV presentation from a couple of years back. I feel like this is just a matter of time. The market has changed drastically since they were last here in 2010 - for the better. There was speculation that M...Jump to post
I guess it all depends on how much out of their comfort zone 3M wants to get. The BKG flights surprised me, but I’m sure Branson is subsidizing them to an extent. OKC, TUL, LIT, MEM, etc connecting in MSY to the FL network might look good on paper, but are they willing to go into a bunch of new mark...Jump to post
Silver Airways shows MSY-BKG service on its route map page.
Could a link from MSY to the main Silver network be far behind?
MSY-EYW, with all-you-care-to-drink served on board. Do it, Silver. :drunk: If that happens, the flight crews will know me on a first name basis! I think we'll see at least one route from MSY connected to the main Silver network. I really can't see PNS (everyone drives this, only three hours), TLH ...Jump to post
Do we have the final rundown of which airlines are going in which terminal? Last I heard, many months ago... A: AC, BA, CM, DE, G4 B: AA, AS, WN C: DL, UA, NK Not sure about B6 and F9...but I assume F9 could end up in A thanks to its low number of flights. Also, I'm thinking it's possible A could se...Jump to post
The concourses themselves are going to be quite narrow, at least until you get to the rotunda. Picture the width of the current Concourse C, then cut it in half...each half will be the amount of walking space up and down the concourse, with retail and dining in the middle. It’s going to get very con...Jump to post
No pictures yet but according to the WN instagram page it looks like a big party, with Trombone Shorty playing, Mardi Gras Indians in the house, etc, under a giant tent. Perfect day weather wise for this...clear and about 60.Jump to post
This is G4 in a nutshell. Keep an eye on the year-round routes. They might not be fully year-round, ultimately (ie, won't operate at all between late August - early October, but they are still called year-round). Also, the seasonal routes can have their service length shortened or lengthened on a w...Jump to post

I flew on a total of 29 passenger 727 flights over the years. My first flight - 1979 (EA). My last flight - 2003 (DL). There was a time back in ‘98 or so when I would fly UA exclusively between PVD and MSY because all four flights (PVD-ORD-MSY and vice versa) were on 72S aircraft. Great memories of ...Jump to post
Also it's interesting to see the growth of ULCC's in MSY. Service to 30 unique airports. NK is clearly the leader, with up to 19 daily departures, but both F9 and NK offer ULCC service to important markets in their own right. G4: CLE, LCK, IND, CVG, PIT, USA, RDU, SFB, PIE F9: AUS, SAT, DEN, PHL, MC...Jump to post
F9 is adding twice weekly nonstop service between MSY and RDU in April. Mo/Fr service on an A320. A strong add, IMO, that will be more successful than ISP and PVD. Here's what the MSY-RDU market will look like come April... G4: 2x weekly / Thu, Sun / MD-80 F9: 2x weekly / Mon, Fri / A320 WN: 2x week...Jump to post
I don’t think a SkyClub having an outdoor deck necessarily would be a sign that the airport would see a large DL expansion. If anything it’s just a nice feature in a new facility. Heck, the new terminal being built at MSY is going to have a fancy new 2-level SkyClub and I don’t think that correlates...Jump to post
SJU is a longshot on NK. G4 was expanding out of SJU, they even added SJU-PIT and RDU, but those have been quietly discontinued. I always assumed B6 was our best chance at SJU service but I think that ship has sailed. Too far of a flight with not a huge amount of O&D and it would undoubtedly be ...Jump to post

Both flights were operated with the 789, and I was in Business Class on both segments. DFW-ICN clocked in at 14h05m, while it was an even 12 hours on the return leg. I'...Jump to post
I was hoping for DL to add SEA at least. BOS I couldn't care less about since we have B6 and NK daily. But I think AS could go for some competition on MSY-SEA. The only thing I can think of is that it's a yield issue. There's demand for another flight, but at what price? CVG and RDU would seem to b...Jump to post

While I do agree that there are still some major North American routes to pursue, particularly PDX, MEX, SAP, and YUL, I don't think that's a good reason to not pursue European growth as well. I would disagree that we have "enough" service to Europe because now almost all of our peer airp...Jump to post
