I’ve heard that NK is reducing CLE to twice-weekly at some point over the next few months.

Let’s face it - with only a couple of exceptions - G4 has been a bust here.

When this terminal opens, it’s going to be the best mid sized airport in the nation in terms of food and beverage offerings. A great mix of big name New Orleans chefs, outposts of popular NOLA restaurants, and quite a few well known national brands.

I guess it all depends on how much out of their comfort zone 3M wants to get. The BKG flights surprised me, but I’m sure Branson is subsidizing them to an extent. OKC, TUL, LIT, MEM, etc connecting in MSY to the FL network might look good on paper, but are they willing to go into a bunch of new mark...

The flight schedule for MSY makes it seem like something else is in the works - it arrives in MSY from BKG at 1347, yet MSY-BKG departs at 1310.

That map is probably from 1985 to 1987, somewhere in there.

Pan Am greatly reduced Houston flying (no more west coast, MEX, LHR nonstops for example) and left New Orleans altogether by 1985...though they would re-start MSY service in '88.

Concourse A was hopping in the 1990's with all of the USAirways Express B1900's running up to 20-25 flights every weekday to a large assortment of regional destinations...SHV, LIT, PNS, BPT, JAN, ECP, PFN, BTR, etc.

Also it's interesting to see the growth of ULCC's in MSY. Service to 30 unique airports. NK is clearly the leader, with up to 19 daily departures, but both F9 and NK offer ULCC service to important markets in their own right. F9 is adding twice weekly nonstop service between MSY and RDU in April. Mo/Fr service on an A320. A strong add, IMO, that will be more successful than ISP and PVD. Here's what the MSY-RDU market will look like come April... G4: 2x weekly / Thu, Sun / MD-80 F9: 2x weekly / Mon, Fri / A320 WN: 2x week...

I don’t think a SkyClub having an outdoor deck necessarily would be a sign that the airport would see a large DL expansion. If anything it’s just a nice feature in a new facility. Heck, the new terminal being built at MSY is going to have a fancy new 2-level SkyClub and I don’t think that correlates...

MSY is just not that strong from secondary markets/airports, with a few exceptions - USA and LCK seem to do well on G4. F9 is doing well on the larger markets with year-round demand (in regard to MSY)

SJU is a longshot on NK. G4 was expanding out of SJU, they even added SJU-PIT and RDU, but those have been quietly discontinued. NK's MSY-BOS service certainly didn't help the F9 PVD flight, and as far as ISP goes, there's a ton of service between the NYC metro area and MSY including NK service to EWR.

At least AUS/SAT/MCO/PHL/DEN remain.

I received confirmation yesterday that there will not be an Admiral’s Club in the new terminal.

So the extra lounge space could be a non airline specific lounge, though a United Club wouldn’t shock me,

If the numbers work, I'm sure we'll get a third Euro carrier eventually.
Until then, I would much rather see, by a wide margin, service to MEX and another Canadian destination.

While I do agree that there are still some major North American routes to pursue, particularly PDX, MEX, SAP, and YUL, I don't think that's a good reason to not pursue European growth as well. I would disagree that we have "enough" service to Europe because now almost all of our peer airp...
