VS wouldn't really work in MSY, anyway, with BA already here.

If the numbers work, I'm sure we'll get a third Euro carrier eventually.
Until then, I would much rather see, by a wide margin, service to MEX and another Canadian destination.

While I do agree that there are still some major North American routes to pursue, particularly PDX, MEX, SAP, and YUL, I don't think that's a good reason to not pursue European growth as well. I would disagree that we have "enough" service to Europe because now almost all of our peer airp...

There won't be any further expansion to the east. All future expansion will be to the west.

Long term, the FBO's can be moved, and there's room for an entirely new terminal should the passenger levels warrant it 20-30 years from now.

I'm told Admiral's Club locations are based mostly on how many elites live in the airport area. MSY simply doesn't have enough right now. A generic, non airline specific lounge makes more sense.

AC will also be on the A terminal.

DL will be using 5 gates on the C terminal.

G4 is going to be using the A terminal, along with BA, CM, DE.
One other domestic carrier too, from what I remeber, unless plans have changed...perhaps it was F9.

Via new Sabre update, confirmed BA is staying at 5X weekly (XTuSu) with B788 through the summer schedule.
Random date in June shows a 2140 departure from MSY.

We'll have to wait and see what the overnight updates look like. Sabre clearly indicates 4X weekly starting on that date. Perhaps the 5X weekly service will just be for the peak cruise season. Or perhaps Sabre will be updated showing the 5X weekly service tomorrow.

If DE has a few more successful seasons in MSY, and if traffic continues to grow, LH could be a possibility to replace DE. Not expecting that to happen, if it does, for at least 3-5 years though. That is a huge economic win for New Orleans. I can't ever recall a 2,000-job announcement (and high paying at that) in my lifetime in the city proper. Over time it will absolutely drive more business traffic.

Choice Aire only had like three relatively full flights around the holidays. The rest went out with like 30/40 people. I heard from a couple of sources that they were bleeding cash on the MSY runs.

BA + DE is a great lineup for a city the size of New Orleans. DE's twice-weekly service is ideal for the leisure oriented nature of the airline. If aything, I'd like to see them extend the flight season to begin in mid-February so they can bring in tourists for Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest, but perhaps ...

PVD was always meant to be seasonal.
DEN is being upgauged to A321 for the summer.

Speaking of NK, they are rumored to be adding three additional nonstop markets (in addition to the four recently announced) for a March or April start.

I'd really like to see ULCC service on MSY-BNA to shake up the market a bit. The WN nonstop flights are jam packed, and if you book relatively close in, you're looking at $600 roundtrip, easily. I hope NK sets up shop in BNA soon and adds a daily nonstop.

The QF flight to DFW has really opened up MSY for Aussie tourism. It's a very popular connection. I'd say a couple of dozen Aussie visitors fly out of MSY on the AA/QF codeshare daily, if I had to make a ballpark guess. Who knows how many UA gets, or DL for that matter.

To get to MEM on Greyhound, you have to change buses in BTR. So the trip is longer than Amtrak and the fares are more $. It's amazing how much direct service Greyhound has cut over the years in many city pairs. Megabus couldn't even make the market work. I guess the point I was trying to make is sim...

I personally think FRA and LHR are all MSY can handle for the time being. BA is going 5X weekly in October, so clearly they must be at least relatively happy with the money they are making in MSY.
