It is the traditional currency. If you are fined by the king or a chief, you are going to be fined in cattle... Although in practice that is converted to Emalengeni (usually around 5-7000 or 400-500 USD).

If I were doing a SWOT analysis on the ME3, terrorism and general instability in the southern ME would be the most significant issue to watch out for. If the UAE were to experience a rash of attacks or a turkey airport style attack, I could see a huge and sudden decrease in demand.

I could do a direct 15 hour flight, but have no problem 8hr + 14hr (often with a long layover) for the price and experience I get with Qatar and that is even with kids in tow. The 77L can have payload restrictions on JNB-ATL (westbound sector). The challenge with the 77L on the sector is that there is a speed restriction on the tyres which can limit the payload. I was just through SJU and not only didn't have to remove anything (including liquids and laptop) from my bag, we also didn't have to remove shoes, and went through the metal detector instead of the body scan.
