This was experienced by an ET A350 crew flying at FL380 from ADD-LHR. I spoke to some friends in Tel Aviv last night. T...

NASA DC-8 Low and Slow Over L.A.

NASA’s DC-8, N817NA is flying very low and slow over Pasadena and the eastern San Gabriel Valley…quite a sight! Hopefully someone smarter than me can post the Flight Aware track for the aircraft. I don’t mean to belittle anyone with allergies or other issues, but I sure remember the days of everyone getting on a plane, eating whatever the airline provided and getting off at the destination. People just minded their business and enjoyed the flight. No seat mate allergies, no service animal co...

Holiday Airlines - a few L-188 Electras used for Lake Tahoe flights. Used to see them parked at LAX West Imperial Terminal.
Also Mercer Airlines based at Burbank. Operated, and lost, the very first DC-6 (C-118A) near Van Nuys in 1976.

Salaries for similar aircraft…long ago

Back in the old days when airlines operated similar but different airplanes, we’re pilot salaries the same regardless of the “same but different” aircraft?
Some examples:
BOAC 707 vs VC-10
Pan Am 707 vs DC-8
Northwest same as above
United DC-8 vs 720

Thanks

The smell was unbearable. Perhaps this was a similar situation?
