Never ceases to amaze me how West LA centric some of the people on here are. Nobody is arguing that people from the western areas probably would not trek out to ONT, but greater LA is so huge and diverse that the businesses in the SGV/OC and IE of which there are thousands would probably flock to t...Jump to post
With all due respect LAXIntl - you get the number of pax on current CI and BR flights with O&D from TPE are generally either San Gabriel Valley (SGV) or Orange County. Granted the 77W is a HUGE issue, if CI right size this to an A350 this may do very well. When I say SGV this isn't bargain base...Jump to post
I hope this route does well with the loads of Taiwanese, Chinese, Filipinos and Vietnamese in the San Gabriel Valley and the Inland Empire and the growing business ties with Asia. Business travel isn't everything. The vast majority of international travelers are price-sensitive in cattle class. Why ...Jump to post

Portugal is the next big thing in European tourism!
Lisbon is horrendously crowded in the summer. Portugal has been a huge thing for decades for Europeans.

Sad that TXL-LAX is being cut for the second time in less than a decade. Berlin is one of my favorite cities and I'm sad the route couldn't work. Maybe Norwegian can pick up TXL-LAX and TXL-SFO?Jump to post

. People (Americans) don't have the same lust to visit Portugal as they do many other parts of Europe. I think Portugal is yet to be fully discovered! Lisbon is a fabulous city in so many ways. and I hope it stays that way and doesn't become a Venice, Rome, or Barcelona swamped with obnoxious Ameri...Jump to post

It's almost shocking that none of the news outlets in Portugal have reported this as of this morning. just lots of bickering about the new administration and the close encounter with a drone. As beautiful as this livery is I have to question the decision to fly this plane to Brazil and Africa. This...Jump to post
I just finished a trip to the Basque Country - Bilbao, Pamplona for the San Fermin festival, San Sebastián, and Biarritz across the border in France. The scenery was gorgeous, the cities were cool and the food was divine! In San Sebastián I was surprised to see so many Anglophone visitors, especiall...Jump to post
What is the draw to Austin, TX which merits service to both LHR and LGW? I bet that Norwegian is trying to draw in college students and the large amount of budget conscious young white people that like to travel. And why do they have to be white? To be honest I'd have thought they would have done LAX-ICN first I would've too.... hence being rather curious at to the source of this claim. I'm surprised too, but I'm not at the same time. LAX-ICN is very competitive with multiple daily A380s. KE and OZ have an iron grip on the market, TG just e...Jump to post
Barcelona is an extremely popular tourist destination and lacks business traffic = low cost heaven. Don't know the answer but I can guesstemate. PER-LHR should be on the agenda before SYD-CDG (already fragmented as it is) and MEL-FCO (same, plus older VFR traffic will be dying off).
The VFR O&D traffic for PER-UK is already very much there, and PER can absorb connecting passengers from the rest of Australia.
I would be surprised if either Paris or Rome are non-stop, in particular if Rome is non-stop. Wouldn't Perth non stop to London be a bigger priority? It is less mileage than Sydney to New York City. Why in the world would anyone in AU want to transit at Perth Why not? It makes pure geographic sense...Jump to post
IMO Norwegian spurred SAS's intercontinental expansion. Just a few years ago SAS's intercontinental network, especially outside of CPH, was very limited. The Scandinavian market, for its size, is a huge travel market and SAS needed to expand to compete.Jump to post
