DFW-MAD is OW hub-OW hub. There’s no meaningful Star feed at the MAD end. It would be a great link to Mexico and Central America though, but of course not ideal for connections because ‘Murica.

Probably low yields, traffic to SAL is generally low-yield VFR and AV has the upper hand.

Madrid doesn't need another airport, the one it has works perfectly fine for the city and for the area's population size. When I lived in Madrid I appreciated only needing to go to one airport no matter where I went or what airline I flew; whether it was IB to LAX or FR to TLS.

Opposite effect here; when I lived in Madrid I went to TLS partly because FR started flying there. If it weren’t for them, I probably wouldn’t have made it there and seen the Airbus factory for myself.
