In the summer they are at about ten flights a day and need two gates. That's correct. This summer, AC ops out of BOS will be: 4x daily E175 to YUL 5x daily E175/A220/Max 8 to YYZ 1x daily Q400 to YHZ No YVR or YOW anymore, so the third gate isn't really needed, but will come in handy during IROPS.

^ slots usually have a use it or lose it condition attached to it, so EK can’t simply pay and keep an unused slot.

This being said, GLA isn’t a level 3 slot coordinated airport, simply a level 2 facility, so things might be a bit different.
