Re: Expansion At SFO

Wow 80 million pax capacity for SFO, well that's not that far away with them having 55 million pax just last year and pax growing at an average of 5-6% annually. I think in the long run for pacific gateway demand for Asia & Australia to USA & Canada, airport's like YVR and SEA need to take ...

Re: Is Frankfurt airport aviation geek nirvana?

+1 for LAX -- in addition to the diversity of carriers and aircraft, the weather there also helps. It very easy to spot outdoors almost any time and season of the year.

Re: Most unique long-haul movement(s) at your local airport

PDX has long-haul pax flights to NRT, AMS, LHR, FRA, and KEF. One can probably make the case that these are not very unique. PDX did recently get Cathay Pacific Cargo 748s to HKG. I'd consider this the most unique long-haul PDX has right now. And while not long-haul, Boeing sometimes sends widebodie...

AA podcast 'Tell Me Why' Jan 2018

Found a new podcast from AA on iTunes called Tell Me Why, hosted by a Vice President of Global Communications, Ron DeFeo. Primary audience seems to be AA staff but in the second episode (most recent) he notes that it's on iTunes now. First episode a couple weeks ago was about the summer network rout...

Re: Turboprops in the USA

EWR has some turboprops doing regional runs as United Express if I'm not mistaken. Though I believe I saw a mention that they are being retired too.

EVA Airways runs LAX-TPE daily at 1205am and 1230am. My guess there is demand.

Re: Proposed Essential Air Service elimination

Thanks everyone!

It seems like the program isn't as big as I imagined.

BobPatterson, I found your previous thread just now and it's quite enlightening. And yea, I guess we'll see if EAS manages to hang on or not, soon!

Proposed Essential Air Service elimination

It was reported that the White House proposed a budget that eliminates the Dept. of Transportation's Essential Air Service (EAS) program. Politics aside and whether or not it will be passed, what effects would this have on US domestic operations? It is my understanding that service to many markets i...

Re: New Airliners.net Homepage Preview

I like the redesign since it has more contrast between headings and content. I would second the thought of having the 5 photos be bigger (take up the entire width). Just move the search part down some =). Could the modules be configurable? Like the iGoogle and yahoo! portals of yore? Thanks! Great j...
