Not a real shocker. EY always seem pretty weak in SFO ever since they have gone down to 3 frequencies a week. Im pretty sure EK is also not what it used to be in SFO, and I guess the laptop ban contributes to that. OTOH, AI seem to be doing great in SFO.

EWR is very important to UA and it serves as a major O&D station. But as others have said, Its not going to be a mega hub. I think the only place that can serve as a mega hub is IAH but thats probably not going to happen, at least not in the scale of DFW or ATL.

It looks real nice and cosy! Its about time they will change their Business Class layout in the widebodies, plus the E+ looks real nice. I do wonder if the new seats on the 787s will have an AVOD, because the other widebodies in LY's fleet dont have AVOD which sucks.

I would not say there is zero demand between the two cities, but as others have said, the demand is flowing through different Asian hubs.

I was just watching the number of airlines adding flights to Cyprus and I was totally shocked! 9 airlines will be serving TLV-LCA/PFO this year! I wonder if the market is really that big to support 9 airlines, or is it saturated. Plus I guess that the yields are really trashy.

Its highly unlikely that they will fly to OTP,its a very limited market. Plus I dont think any of the airlines that you have listed fly to DOH, KWI or RUH.

Agree with you about DL, but B6 receives tons of connecting traffic, alot of the airlines that fly to JFK partner with B6.

Considering the O&D market in MIA, and the AA-LY Partnership (which has only grown stronger since PHL-TLV died), I'm not surprised. I'd expect to potentially see codeshares on AA into South America, especially if LY expects to fill a 772. Codeshares aren't needed to South America to fill a 777 ...

I think UA can easily pull off ORD-TLV or LAX-TLV, considering how well they are doing on EWR-TLV and SFO-TLV. As others have said, I think BNE or FRA could be next from LAX, but I think UA first needs to fill the SFO-MEL hole.

The most obvious guess would be JAL starting NRT-MIA, which is also one of the shortest Far East routes from MIA and it has a JV with AA. But as others have said, JAL dosent seem to start it anytime soon unfortunately.

That the only airline that has a hub in LAS and has a frequent flyer program is WN and they dont fly to Hawaii, so DL can gain traffic pretty easily.

They would probably drop it, as sad as it sounds. I dont think DL has much to look for in NRT right now, IMO they will close this mini hub.

I imagine JFK (DL) and EWR (UA) would be up there as well. Its way easier to connect in Europe, I dont know many people who connect in EWR/JFK/BOS.
