There´s an 787-8 heading from VCV to Roswell of all places,and the only -8 they had in VCV that i know of was Scoot´s LN1065. In terms of NTUs like for instance G-TUIP for TUI, it having been painted as a cost of materials and humantime (people actually painting it) will TUI have to compensate Boeing for those costs?

It seems that Boeing has been moving all frames that will remain in storage for another while to SKF. They have been slowly doing this over the past six months or so. You'd think VCV has plenty of space, and Kelly is an AFB and fairly tight fit. Maybe they just need to be flown every few years and ...

Wouldn't an airline the size of ANA have a spare Nose cone to hand to install incase of a bird strike, plus its a little strange she's been AOG since the 15th, I would have thought they would have had it back in the air by now unless its suffered a heavy bird strike like an eagle or something of tha...

I have received some interesting photos of ANAs JA804A from around the 15th Jan with a seriously squashed nose. She hasnt flown since.

I think the IGW is only applicable for the 9+10's. Will this make the 8 series more unattractive to buyers.

I Can't see why they would remove the tail when the damage was at the front unless the airframe has tail issues as well

Most site have her as written off due to the location of the hit which i read was the avionics bay which means a full re-wire, taking that with a grain of salt though, still awaiting feedback from Latam

It could be the structure is being used as a cover for the electronics bay etc
I have reached out to Latam to see if they can confirm or deny the fate. Latam are usually quite good at comms.

I think it was more of a case of them being stored by the sea and it would have cost far too much to get them ready for flight.

B787 breaking or scrapping thread

As most of us know line number 5 has long been scrapped.

The latest news that I have is that Purple Orchid have to ex Norwegian birds for scrap, those bring VP-CVL and VP-CVM

I haven't heard anything about progress with the scrappings have these been broken up yet or still stored?

It will probably go as a "whitetail" although in this case purplish....
I can see Lufthansa taking this one as they have with so many others recently to supply to Austrian Airlines with the required 787's
