Re: FlyBmi ceases operations.

Very sad to see British Midland finally go . . . And by the way, DutchBoeing's comments above should be noted - Brexit is a nightmare

Re: 60 years ago today, Pan Am received its first 707

Just to add to chornedsnorkack's post, the first 707 service from Idlewild to Le Bourget was flown by N711PA. If you Google that registration you'll find a great black and white photo taken on the tarmac prior to the flight departing with a marching bad - great stuff! 26 October 1958 also happens to...

Re: A330 Operators - Europe to Australia with One Stop - Possible?

Etihad currently fly A330-200's PER to AUH, which is over half way to LHR, and I've flown Etihad A330-300 AUH to DUS, so yes, it could be done

Re: US set to request five years of social media history for all visa applicants

Well said VC10er. As an Aussie I need an ESTA to visit the US and whilst the application process is quite straight forward I found the process of entering the country quite confronting - finger prints, photos, 'How long are you here for?', and HUGE queues at both JFK and EWR. It is over the top and ...

Re: Norwegian planning Buenos Aires to Asia flights via Perth

I tend to agree with Mortyman - China Southern also has rights, and there's no arguing they have a burgeoning home market with a taste for travel, so anyone tapping into China and Asia in general could pull a rabbit out of the hat

Re: Announcement: Airliners.net has been acquired by VerticalScope

Early on in this thread there was a comment about making the background white and having text black on a white background. For goodness sake don't do either of these things, there's a reason why graphic designers have a neutral grey background when working in Photoshop etc., it's to be easy on the e...

RE: Spotting Locations Beijing Capital Airport(PEK)

I was at PEK at the end of March this year and had a great time! No issues with the Police or authorities at all. The Planepics site has all the info you need, but in a nutshell, for the centre runway raised viewing area, come out of t...
