Re: Icelandair seeks proposals for fleet replacement beyond 2024

No, neither the MAX not A321 can carry the same cargo volume or payload as a 757. According to Delta Air Lines, the 737-9 (1812 cubic ft) and A321 (1820 cubic ft) actually have more cargo volume than the 757 (1794 cubic ft) https://www.deltacargo.com/Cargo/catalog/aircraft-specification/airbus-321 ...

Re: United Airlines nears order for over 100 widebody jets - Bloomberg News

This maybe a perfect time to split the order. Considering higher fuel prices and the obvious long term closure of Russian airspace, I would guess: 30 A350K 30 A350-900 20 78X-ER 20 789-ER Splitting the fleet locks in all the costs of a split fleet for a generation. Those costs are non-trivial. More...

I'm not sure what travel segment they're looking at, but someone could start weekend flights into GLS to meet the cruise ships. Not having to spend 1-2 hours in a van shuttling from airport to dock would be a plus, and those boats carry over 3,000 passengers at a time.
