Re: Turkish to open base in CCS

I'll belive it when I see it. Few years back Turkish wanted to set up base in SDQ in Dominican Republic to do exactly the same thing, Caribbean and South America flying, and they would have gotten all fifth freedom out of there they might ever want ... Don't see this deal with CCS happening...

Re: 737 Max 9 North America inaugural service

Is there any way to get a payload range chart for MAX 9? Boeing hasn't updated its airport manual for 739 MAX yet with this data. If anyone has it would it be possible to share it with me?

Re: Central American aviation thread - 2018

DE is going to be in real trouble at SJO (since it has a SDQ stopover) against LH. Perhaps they should consider moving the tag to GUA or CTG where there is less competition I don't think you can compare DE with LH that much, because DE departs FRA late at night and LH in the afternoon. LH will like...

Re: Which US Airport Is Most Likely To Be Dehubbed?

If they are going to give up gate space in Concourse B, would that mean they further cuts may be imminent? How much connection traffic still goes through CVG, and what specific routes connect through? Since DL spread out the banks for more O&D traffic a few years ago, they tried to get rid of 6...

Re: Boeing targets Bombardier for “price dumping” CSeries

Glad to see some progress made against illegal subsidies. I'm sure Boeing calculated the long term risk and went forward. You can't allow another company to get it's place at the table with government backing like Airbus. Overall, Air Canada and Westjet are private entities. The government shouldn'...

Re: Boeing targets Bombardier for “price dumping” CSeries

This is going to bite boeing in the @$$ BIG TIME. It's now Canada's turn: here's to the 220% tarriff on all 737s, 777s and 787s bought by WestJet, Air Canada and Air Transat. Bombardier still has the rest of the world. Keep up good job, my fellow Canadians, don't give in to the idiots south of your...

Re: Aviation billionaires?

Well, Neeleman would probably be topping a billion as well.
Then in Europe you have Stelios Haji the EasyJet shareholder, Hidalgo of Globalia Group (Air Europa), in LATIN America you have German Eframovich and Kriete family of Avianca, Kriete also owns a big chunk of Mexican Volaris.

[quote="mutu"] Interestingly the IAG structure already ensures BA is UK controlled despite being a full economic subsidiary of IAG, a Spanish Company. The structure was developed at the outset ironically so that IAG could acquire non EU carriers without damaging bilaterals of the new non E...

Re: Is protected US domestic market really unique?

I do not envision foreign cabotage will be very prevalent in the future, but I think more and more countries will open up their airspace to allow establishing subsidiaries of foreign airlines, duly registered in given country X granting a local AOC, being regulated by country X and complying with lo...

No not worlds busiest, but certainly even more busy with seemingly every major airline will continue to grow at LAX - AA, DL, UA and WN have their own various projects that will boost their respective capacity. I would however love to see LAX go on an international spree and retake the #2 USA int'l...

I am sure that at least on the Dominican Republic side there would not be any problems for LEVEL to fly even from every European airport. The DR government is very liberal with rights.
