Hey guys,
Is this the (potentially) first P-8 right-off? I don’t recall any others.

Hey guys, For me, only one US city is on my bucket list … SEATTLE. Boeing, Starbucks, grunge music, Mt St Helens, wilderness …. Ticks all my boxes. My one attempt to go there was thwarted by a winter snowstorm and I was stuck in Vancouver. I live in hope that Delta or QF open the Sydney to Seattle n...
Jump to postHey LTEN11,
Thanks for the info. I had heard about Warnervale but wasn’t sure if it was still the current plan.
Looks like I might have to book a flight to Maroochydore to see one. Perhaps even try out Bonza!

Let’s see now that I live in TSV, TSV-HNL TSV-DRW-SIN TSV-AKL all QF 747 routes in the 80s Wouldn’t hold my breath though… Hey mate, I remember those well… Love Townsville! My vote for restored route… An old Ansett ‘milk run’ I did in the mid 90s that went Sydney-Alice springs-Darwin (change planes...
Jump to postHey guys,
I’ve never seen a Transall before… can’t wait to catch one here in Australia… but hopefully not ‘in action’!
Does anyone know the latest basing info for them?

Hey guys, Any rumours of possible other new Wedgetail customers? I reckon that the RAAF will come back for more in about a decade if it’s still in production… we probably will have worn ours out by then. I reckon the French are long odds but possibles to buy a few eventually. Saudi Arabia to replace...
Jump to postHey guys, I’ve been deliberately quiet on here for a while but I’ll say this… A while ago I alluded that the whole Qatar ‘thing’ is much more than just traffic rights. There’s a bigger picture I believe that won’t be revealed just yet. I firmly believe that this is the case. Also, re QF and the scim...

Hi mate, Seeing that ‘Yves and I are going to Hong Kong’ in Vancouver was a highlight of a round the world trip I did in 1995. My understanding is that Yves refered to some Air Canada personality…. Perhaps the boss at the time? My memory may be wrong however… Take care, Bunumuring PS: I have a small...
Jump to postHey guys, I’ve heard speculation that the Qatar ‘issue’ is the tip of a much bigger situation that hasn’t fully played out yet - thus the relatively muted response from Doha and AAB over the Government’s decision, which I find remarkable! Perhaps we will learn a lot more soon? I suspect WSI rights a...

Hey mate, I reckon there’s a good chance medium term of Delta opening up Melbourne flights, possibly three to four weekly before moving to daily down the track. I assume Delta would use A350s for any Melbourne service due to range. Melbourne is on track to overtake Sydney as Australia’s most populou...
Jump to postHaving just done three long flights on the Alliance E180's flying for Qantas, they provide a substandard flight experience compared to the 737. Seats are uncomfortable for long flights and there is no working in-flight entertainment or wifi to provide any distraction from the seats. The 2 +2 would ...
Jump to postWhile flying the three heavies from the USA, did any carrier also fly Airbus A300s / A310s? Air France? …. And ummmm, Air France operated 767s …. …. And A330s …. And A340s …. And A380s …. And A350s Oh, and 777s and 787s…. So basically everything widebodied except IL-86 and IL-96? Beat that, any oth...

I guess QF are maximising yields on the BNE-SYD-MEL triangle, in some classes. I got an invite to stay with a friend down in SYD for my 50th birthday. I knew I had a few travel passes sitting there waiting to expire. So it ended up using them to spend $1,917.06 on a J return flight BNE-SYD, not sur...
Jump to postHey mate, I collect 1/400 diecast plane models, civil and military. Two of my latest purchases were Braniff ‘fantasy’ schemes… a Concorde with red body and white tail and a bare metal TriStar with a white tail. I paid reasonable prices for them. I also recently purchased off eBay a Northwest AirLink...
Jump to postHey guys, In my four or five ‘economy class’ domestic flights on China Southern, predominantly on A32X aircraft, I don’t remember receiving a meal. A snack yes, but not a meal. Hey Thatcher, Interesting point… I wonder where will be the next Australian greenfield airport built? I also think that Uluṟu and the one in the Victorian Alps wou...
Jump to postIf a secondary Melbourne airport was to be built from the ground up in the manner of WSI, the outer South East would be a more appropriate location, there were plans a few years back for an airport to be built at Koo Wee Rup, an airport in that location would have been well supported given the prox...
Jump to postSorry if this has been discussed up thread. Western Sydney looks super cool, and Qantas has just made a commitment to use it, though not a huge commitment. Hey guys, With reports in another thread here that ET’s senior management may have been ‘changed’ this weekend, perhaps talk of an Australian route in the short/medium term can be dismissed, along with reports of 130 aircraft being ordered… I agree with ryanairGuru that talk of ET starting Australia...
Jump to postHey guys, RIP to the victims and condolences to all families impacted by this terrible tragedy. Jump to postHey guys, Bamboo from Vietnam …. An order on the horizon, possibly including freighters? Just a thought. Jump to postHey RJMAZ, Is it possible that this new Pratt engine could power a version of the C-130? Could it be part of the amphibious Hercules development? Or even for the TACAMO Herc? Jump to postHey guys, I did not like the American livery when first unveiled all those years ago… Now I kinda like it. Yes, it has grown on me and definitely looks better ‘in the flesh’. I haven’t like any US Airways livery since the bare metal, ‘3 shades of rust’ livery on the 146s and 737-300s of decades past...
Jump to postHey guys, Re WSI: I heard freight operations planned to start early June 2026 with passenger operations to start in early December 2026… I guess that will allow any infrastructure teething issues not directly involving passenger services to be discreetly ironed out. Hey guys, My latest prediction: Neom Airlines with a largish order to ‘balance’ the highly publicised Riyadh/Saudia Dreamliner orders… Riyadh and Saudia to announce largish Airbus orders (on its home turf of Paris) to ‘balance’ the Boeing orders… Emirates to keep its 787 plans and A350/777X top up o...
Jump to postHey yachty, That spreadsheet is interesting, especially that it still contains Malaysian’s stillborn 787 order…. 39 seems an odd number for options… anyone have any idea how that number came about? Hey guys, And in amongst the fevered speculation on 787 orders, don’t forget air Niugini going for two 787-8s…. Every little bit helps when stretching to 2000!
