This is nothing like 1883--different type of magma, open magma conduit whereas 1883 was closed for much of the eruption. I expect the cloud height to decrease as what's left of the existing conduit is cooled by seawater.

I've done OMA-DFW-ORD-TYS on AA just to get on a 772. Also, OMA-ORD-DFW, AA to get on a 788. OMA-CLT-DFW-GRK, AA because I had time to kill and I like to go up and down a lot... DL bumped me in SLC so my route was LAS-SLC-ATL-OMA. If it's just me, I'll go around my elbow to scratch my nose every time.
